The war is not meant to be won. It is meant to be continuous. And I think that is one of those quotes from that George Orwell nineteen eighty four novel that seems to be all about totalitarianism or some other isms all the time in life here on planet earth. And those above articles are all Yahoo News stories that have been sitting around in my email inbox for a month or so now that have either been not found or expired. And I am not sure what all of those articles that I posted in this entry above may mean, though they all seem to have one thing in common. The fact that another person has lost their life to gun violence, yesterday, today and tomorrow with no end in sight, for no reason at all except for the fact that guns have been invented. And it is enough to have one not want to leave home for fear of never making it back. And sometimes one does not even have to leave home. A mans enemies are those of his own household. And brother is against brother, and nation is against nation, and king is against king. And guns are the worst invention ever. The idea that if one has a gun, it can be used to take another human beings life. If only guns could be abolished from every human being on the face of planet earth and the image of guns banished from every form of marketing, media and advertising. And it is a vicious cycle of a death industry of some sort of beast that feeds upon itself. And it is Kali Yuga. Where is the world headed. Is another world possible. And what does this have to do with a No Police State. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.![]()
This Auto
And I have seen those cars and automobiles around throughout my travels here on planet earth, as those are usually those moving vehicles on wheels that are great for moving people from one place to another. And if you happen to be looking for car parts for that car, you can find them at Car Parts Warehouse. They are a place where you can find car and auto parts online at great low prices. You can find alternators, condensers and other parts for many different models of cars such as Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford and more. Summertime
And so it must be rolling up again at the end of spring and the beginning of summer again this year as that Gregorian calender on the wall and the weather outside here in that country of North America could say so. And I also know it is summertime coming up because this past weeks edition of the Village Voices Summer Arts Guide 2009 says so. And every so often I find myself blah blogging about events of this blog because hey, it’s less writing sometimes. And some of those on the music scene and be seen music events and beyond that they have listed going on this summer seems to be that annual River To River Festival in that City of New York that’s happening with it’s opening date of Memorial Day, May 31st, that’s video, photo, festivals, music and more with performers that include Bang on A Can Marathon, Conor Oberst, Arlo Guthrie, Merce Cunningham Dance Company, New York City Opera, Brian Stokes, Mitchell, Zvi Dance, Luminescent Orchestrii, Emmet Cohen Trio, A Castle Clinton Tribute to Woodstock – Richie Havens, King Britt Sun Ra Lectric:Saturn Never Sleeps, Miles Davie Electric Funk And Beyond with Badal Roy, Michael Henderson, Kenny Wessell , Karsh Kale and Timeline, Junior Mance and more as their list of performing artists goes on.
And then there’s the
Vision 14 Festival from Arts for Art, that who’s on the jazz scene festival that seems to happen yearly. And this festival is happening this summer also at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in that City of New York with performers Marshall Allen and the Sun Ra Arkestra, Fred Anderson, Billy Bang, Rob Brown, Roy Campbell, Ernest Dawkins, Douglas Ewart, Charles Gayle, Peter Brotzmann Full Blast Trio, Ras Moshe, William Hooker, Jason Kao Hwang, Kidd Jordan, Joe McPhee, Milford Graves, Joe Morris, Sunny Mujrray, Zim Ngqawana, William Parker, Michelle Rosewoman, Matthew Ship, Lisa Sokolov and Butch Morris.
And there must be lots and lots of more seemingly endless events, happenings and beyond going on in this town because as far as I know, it’s that city of New York, that city that never sleeps. Or does it. Have a great event day.![]()
A Grate Performance
And so I found myself at Times Square this past Memorial Day weekend listening to their “Grate Performers – Best of the Buskers” entertainment series of The Underground Horns, The Colin Huggins Show, Xylopholks, NYC Transformerz, some serious break dancers with a gymnastic ability worthy of the Olympics themselves and other buskers who were busking away and entertaining indeed. And what a theater district, street fair and festival that was to behold indeed in all of its neon lights and glory. And that entertainment series of musicians, magicians, dancers, singers and other performance artists is coming and is here this summer to the new Father Duffy Square, 46th and Broadway at the Crossroads of the World in the Great White Way of that city of New York. And Times Square is going green, it’s the new thing with its Green Light for Midtown program and will be closed to vehicle traffic, seemingly a first in history as far as I can remember in my New York Days. And the Naked Cowboy was and seemingly is there in all of his Naked Cowboy, boots and guitar glory. And a fixture he can be as synonymous with the name of Times Square itself these days and times. And lo and behold what a sight to behold, the sight of seemingly an oasis beach complete with lounge chairs and palm trees, all in the middle of the street of Broadway between Times Square and Herald Square with its car free pedestrian walkway plaza. And that pedestrian plazas will be having events and concerts throughout the summer. And so I thought to post that photo and video above of that busking above ground and under ground band The Underground Horns on that Memorial Day and at the Times Square Promenade. And that music, hot dogs and free bar b que ribs rocked that day of a memorial. Have a great Times Square day.![]()
That Ode to Blogging
And it is Sunday on this day according to that Gregorian Calendar that has rolled around again in this week. That day of rest, day of God, the Sabbath. Or is that Saturday. And even when it seems as if the world is falling down all around me, I still find myself blah blogging for some reason. And if you happen to be one of those attempt to get rich internet quick blogaholics as I have found myself in times past, it seems as if that latest Google page rank update the other day wants to send me in search of a fourth full time job. And so I thought to post that “Ode to Blogging” again that I came across somewhere in internetland during my internet time and have found myself posting on this blog every so often:
An Ode To Blogging(sung to the tune of “Mercedes Benz” by Janis Joplin)
Oh Google, won’t you give me a PageRank quickly?
My friends all have Adsense, but you banned me.
Blogged hard all my lifetime, trying to make money,
So Google, won’t you give me a PageRank quickly?
Oh Shoemoney , won’t give my blog a big plug?
I post every day, but never get Dugg.
I like how you’re bald, but don’t wear a rug,
So oh Shoemoney, won’t you give my blog a big plug?
Oh AGLOCO , won’t you give up your little green scam?
Your members flood my inbox with lots of spam.
You know that I’m not your biggest fan,
Oh AGLOCO, won’t you give up your little green scam?
Bloggers!
Oh Google, won’t you give me a PageRank quickly?
My friends all have Adsense, but you banned me.
Blogged hard all my lifetime, trying to make money,
So Google, won’t you give me a PageRank quickly?
Time
Time. Father Time. The only thing constant is change. And there must be lots and lots more sayings about that word time. And if you happen to be looking to tell what time it is for some reason or another, which one usually finds themselves doing every so often, especially if you happen to be one of those human beings dwelling here on planet earth, you can find Rolex watches at www.bestoftime.com. You can find many different kinds of Rolex watches at their website. You can find men’s and women’s collections with diamonds, gold and more at Best of Time. And with those Rolex watches you can find the best of times, maybe.![]()
A Poem
And so I find myself in bloggerland again on this day attempting to find content for this blog in my attempt to maintain more than one blog. And how do those other bloggers out there in the blogosphere maintain and find content for those blogs as much as possible whenever possible. Is there some internet guru who can answer this question. And it could be that bloggers block again sometimes. And so this following is yet another one of those posts I found myself posting on my other blog sometime a while ago. It’s just that this blog seems as if it wants to become Orwellian true speak with it’s times and dates sometimes:
And for some reason upon this day that seems as if it wants to appear amongst the number of days throughout the year, I find myself posting this following poem. And every so often I find myself posting poems on these blogs in my attempt to maintain more than one blog with content for some reason or another, and usually because hey, it’s less writing sometimes:
Untitled
I am no Queen
I sit a widow and shall see sorrow
I kannot walk any further
my journey may end here
there are no words to take away the pain
to replace a person who is gone
my eyes are dim and heavy with grief
I kannot klose them
I do not wish to see the darkness they hold
this thing which I have greatly feared
has come upon me with trembling
kausing all my bones to shake
I am scared with dreams and terrified
with visions of what will my funeral be like
when I die today at this very moment
will there be a funeral
who will come and who will pay
will they eulogize me and what will they say
leave me to sit and decay
make me your centerpiece in a chair dressed up dead
preserve me with spices, mummify me
let the birds of the air pluck me
the best of the field tear me
till I be consumed by maggots and
dust and fly away when I die
there hath been no greater love than
that which hath been
it is the sound of Rachel mourning for
the children that never were
no one to comfort her
no where to wail lament save the ocean
why died they not from the womb
why died they not the breast prevent them from suck
shy died they not the knees prevent them
shy died they not give up the ghost that
no light shine upon this day
cursed be the man that saith the child
is born this day
it is the wake of a funeral procession
about to begin
it was a sunny day that day across the street from the graveyard
and we all laid down in our coffins to die.![]()
A Day of Memory
So what’s going on this Memorial Day holiday. I know something must be going on because all of those events listed in this weeks Time Out New York says so. And I also know it must be Memorial Day tomorrow according to that Gregorian calendar because all of the those beginning of summer advertisements in the papers and displays in the stores says so. And I have found myself blah blogging about this topic on my blog before as it seems to be another one of those holidays that rolls around each year like clockwork. And some of those events that I found listed throughout my Timeout New York Magazine and beyond for this Memorial Day weekend internet travels are::
Beats and BBQ at Art Land in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with house music, barbecue and DJs including Ali Coleman from Voice of Voice, Pre Party Radio’s Jose G, Takaya from the Shanti shindig, Lion 1 Music’s Go Kiryu, Soul Fire’s Dawn Anesta and Save the Robots’ Siren.
and then there’s
That 14th Annual Lower East Side Festival of the Arts that seems to happen at Theatre For the New City each year with poetry, readings, dance, music, theatre, cabaret and more. And those festivals theatre and street festival rock. And try and check out those murals on their downstairs basement wall while you are there as those are the coolest artwork done by some cool artists. And some of their artists, performers and groups for this years festival include Stan Baker, Amy Barronei, Steve Cannon, Judith Caporale, Peter Carlaftes, Gil Faliani, Ellen Farber, Kat Georges, Robert Gibbons, Robert Harris, Gary Heidt, Karen Hildebrand, Matthew Hupert, David Lawton, Brant Lyon , Lois Kagan Mingus, Lissa Moira, Larry Myers, Ronnie Norpel, Linda Reeves, Slim Russell, Susan Scutti, Jackie Sheeler, David Vernon, George Wallas, Richard West, Jeffrey Cuphers Wright, Beau Allillu, Jeanette Arnone-K, Joseph Arbo, Deborah Aslanian, Amy Cohen Banker, Brian Benson, Margret Birns, Kathryn Bloss, Lois Carlo, Carlos Cevallos, Victor Cevallos, Kathy Creutzburg, Onno de Jong, Dennis Edge, Lauren Edmond, Haim Elisha, Kris Enos, Millie Falcaro, Susann Ferris Jones, Walter Fitzgerald, Kathy Jennings, Randy Jones, Sonja Hofer, John Kohan, Angela La Monte, Elodie Lauten, Phoebe Legere, Len Leone, Brookie Maxwell, Patricia McGovern, Marlis Momber, Lissa Moira, Megan Murtha, Ronnie Norpel, Jo Pendola, Rolando Politi, Jacqueline Rada, Carolyn Ratcliffe, Bonnie Rosenstock, Morena Saenz, Gene Schull, Shell Sheddy, Barbara Slitkin, George Smol, Anne Stanner, Leslie Tanner, Robert Varkony, Richard West, Joe Franklin, Rosie Mendez, Reno, Tammy Grimes, Penny Arcade, Phoebe Legere, Judith Malina, Katherine Adamenko, Zero Boy, Joe Bendik, The Love Show, William Parker and Patricia Nicholson, Bina Sharif, Joe’s Pub, La Mama,The Living Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, CAVE Gallery, Franklin Furnace, Crystal Field, Barbara Kahn and more.
And there’s also
something going on in Times Square for Memorial day. Times Square is going green and will be closed to vehicle traffic for its new pedestrian walkway. And there will be a Memorial Day movie, street performers and musicians to celebrate this event throughout the summer also. And this event seems like it’s going to go green, it’s the new thing, rock.
And there must be more, lots more of Memorial Day events going on in that city of New York that are passing me at the moment. And so let me take this web 2.0 social media user generated content opportunity to post that Memorial Day blog entry that was written on this blog some time a while ago:
Honoring The Fallen?
And Memorial Day is almost near in a couple of days or so according to that Gregorian calendar and all of those street festivals that are to be found everywhere in the streets today. And I thought to blah blog about this patriotic flag waving holiday. And this also leads me to realize that I have been blahging on this blog for over a year now and that these holidays seem to be a recurring event and same day, different year when that same ole Gregorian calendar date roles around. And then I thought, hey, I can just post the same blog entry from a year ago that I posted on this blog a year ago because it almost seems like it’s the same day, different year. And besides, it’s less writing sometimes. So the following is a passage that I posted on this blog a year ago:
And today is Memorial Day in America. A celebration of the war day. Another one of those patriotic holidays. The flag wavers are out and yellow ribbons, badges of honor, medals, parades, marches, prayers, patriotic songs, tributes and ceremonies are being broadcast everywhere. The headlines read “Honor the dead soldiers, honor the fallen soldiers and comrades”. Today is the ultimate patriotic fanatic holiday. My question of the day; for what reason is it an honor to volunteer to be fodder for the canon. For what reason is it an honor to die for nothing, to fight for reasons that do not exist, to fight against the flesh for powers that be that one cannot even see. For what reason is it an honor to be so poor that one will volunteer their life in exchange for money after one leaves the service, if one leaves the service. For what reason is it an honor for persons to be brainwashed with propaganda, theirs or mine. For what reason is it an honor to become a violent person and pick up a gun and kill another person for no reason at all. For what reason is it an honor to be a veteran who now make up the majority of the homeless population. For what reason is it an honor to attend one of those military sponsored funerals and cry over the image of a flag that propagates violence, the same flag that caused ones death. For what reason is it an honor to fall and die for nothing. For what reason is it an honor to promote this ideology. What is heroic about all of this? And why does the word “Patriot” have the word “Riot” in it? And why does the word “Military” militant militia have the word “Mal” in it? “Parens Patriarch, Father of our country”, that phrase seems to be the basis of endless deaths of the world. I saw Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 documentary. It is nineteen eighty four and Orwellianism is everywhere at its best today. Is it written somewhere that this must all come to pass? Happy beach bar b queing Memorial day. Peace on earth. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?![]()
