Haiti

Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present. And so those preceding words were to be found as a quote in someones email that I received and elsewhere in life as one of those parables. And I still find myself reading, watching and listening to the news this past week of the latest natural disaster of an earthquake that has taken many lives along with it here on planet earth that has afflicted the city of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. And it seems to be a tragic event with images of devastation that represent the fragility of life as human beings that seem as if they are taken from the apocalypse. And in commentary of those photos of Haiti in the newspapers this past week, of armed military guards guarding piles of rubble, I am unable to comprehend, for what reason does one guard a pile of rubble. And in response to the tragedy in Haiti Jeff Stark’s nonsensenyc list has events for Haiti this week as follows:

Furniture

Hey Bloggers, do you find yourself as one of those human beings dwelling here on planet earth in need of something to lie or sit on. You know those objects known as furniture? And from what I know, furniture can make ones dwelling place look really beautiful and cool when it comes to decorating ones room. And there seems to be all kinds of furniture in many different styles such as Italian bedroom sets, art deco for the kitchen, contemporary for other rooms, vintage, retro, office furniture for offices and just about any kind of style one can think of. And it can be really fun choosing those beds, tables and chairs to sit on, lie on and lay things on. And sometimes it can be fun deciding what color and how comfortable each piece of furniture can be and then choosing just exactly where to put that piece of furniture in the room can be fun as well. And imagining how that room will look once decorated with furniture can be an experience indeed.

Valentines Day

Hey Bloggers, and Valentines Day is just around the corner. I know because just about every store I go into has those red heart displays all over their windows, shelves and throughout the store. And usually when one thinks of Valentines day, the topic of love, love and love, sometimes that Cupid of Love guy and his love arrow comes up. And then theres always Valentine’s Gifts to go along with that Valentines Day Holiday. What to get the loved one, family or friend. And there’s always chocolate to be found everywhere on this day usually, as what better way to say I Love You than with chocolate. And then there’s jewelry, teddy bears, balloons and flowers that seem to be found on the streets and beyond for this day. And what’s the origin of Valentines day anyway? Is that Saint Valentine. Happy day of Valentine.

Debt

Debt, and that word seems to be going around a lot lately, especially when it comes to the economy seeming as if it want to have one of those going out of business everything must go sales where it seem as if every person, or every other person is out of a job looking for some sort or work with an accumulating debt in the precess. And do you happen to find yourself as one of these people with one of those accumulating debts? Well, there’s always debt consolidation when you could be looking to get out of debt fast. And if and when you find yourself with bills, bills, and more bills, debt management plans seems as if they can become necessary if one may want to stay in business somehow. So if you may find yourself with lots of those I.O.U’s, debt consolidation can be one of those ways to help you get out of debt in case you find oneself hiding out from the telephone from those seemingly nonstop creditor phone calls.

Haiti

And according to that Gregorian calendar, it is Sunday on this day, day of God, the Sabbath, the day of rest, or is that Saturday. And yet I find myself blogging on this blog. And I have found myself reading, watching and listening to the news this past week of the latest natural disaster of an earthquake that has taken many lives along with it here on planet earth that has afflicted the city of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. And it seems to be a tragic event with images of devastation that represent the fragility of life as human beings that seem as if they are taken from the apocalypse. And in those thoughts I thought to post some verses on the internet from that book the Bible in various translations in relation to life and death:

By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.

A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,

Man’s fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless.

All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return.

Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”

And I declared that the dead, who had already died, are happier than the living, who are still alive.

Naked a man comes from his mother’s womb, and as he comes, so he departs. He takes nothing from his labor that he can carry in his hand. Even if he lives a thousand years twice over but fails to enjoy his prosperity. Do not all go to the same place?

No man has power over the wind to contain it; so no one has power over the day of his death.

Anyone who is among the living has hope–even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!

For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten

I know you will bring me down to death, to the place appointed for all the living

for he will take nothing with him when he dies, his splendor will not descend with him

As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field;

The wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.

Man is like a breath; his days are like a fleeting shadow.

When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.

Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.

And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly: for what can the man do that cometh after the king? even that which hath been already done.

Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me.

And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured, and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity.

For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity.

Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.

As he came forth of his mother’s womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labor, which he may carry away in his hand.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.

And A Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

The business of birth, the business of death. Mortal man. We are all born to die.

An Interesting Email

Hey Bloggers, or whoever could be reading this blog. And this following post is yet another one of those somewhat funny joke emails I received in my inbox the other day that was sent from a friend in one of those group emails that was forwarded from another friend and so on and so on and so on. And I thought this one kind of funny enough to post on this blog because hey, it’s less writing sometimes…..

Liars in Church

The Preacher finished the service one morning by saying,

“Next Sunday, I am going to preach on the subject of liars.

As a preparation for my sermon, I would like you all to read Mark 17.”

On the following Sunday, the preacher rose to begin.

Looking out at the congregation he said:

“Last week I asked you all to read Mark 17.

If you have read the chapter, please raise your hand.”

Nearly every hand in the congregation went up.

Smiling, the preacher said, “You are the very people I want to talk to.

Mark has only 16 chapters

Have a great here on Earth Sunday day.

The Blackberry

Iphone-plastic-az

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Pexagon Technology. All opinions are 100% mine.

The Blackberry. And in case you haven’t heard, those high tech communication gadgets seem to be all the rage and more these days, as it seems as if just about everyone on planet earth, or at least a lot of people are carrying around those communication devices. And now one can have their own personalized Apple & BlackBerry cases to go along with their Blackberry. And those Apple and BlackBerry plastic and silicone cases are really cool with their cool designs, and you can even engrave your own name and logo on your iPod Touch. And in case you haven’t heard again, those iPods are all the musical and video communication rage as well these days. You can use your screen and buttons and take photos without even having to remove the case. And that photo above of those Blackberry and iPod Touch cases looks really cool to me with those colors. And you can now carry around that Blackberry Smartphone with style in many different colors and styles. And what better way to have communication with style that with a $5 personalized Apple and Blackberry Smartphone case.

The Aloe Vera Plant

And as a person with one of those blogs in this web 2.0 social media user generated content era, I just had to post those photos of that seemingly anaconda of an aloe vera plant that seems so big and out of control that it seems like it just wants to go to the desert or become part of some National Geographic horticulture project. And what else can I say about that plant, as the photo above seems as if wants to speak for itself.

A Bullet Space Art Show

Hey Bloggers, or whoever could be reading this blog, and Bullet Space has an art show going on. I know because that copy of “The Bulletin, The Perfect Crime, curated by Carlo McCormick” and last weeks edition of The Villager Newspaper says so. And from what I remember, Bullet Space is one of those last of the remaining Squats in the neighborhood of the Lower East Side, now called the East Village for real estate marketing purposes maybe, in that city of New York, where if you need a home, take one, that could now be called homesteads that have either been bought out or sold out in the age of gentrification that have survived from that era of Tompkins Square Park and its riots to stop gentrification and free everyone from long lore ago. And Bullet Space has held many an artistic events over the years. And that flyer for their event reads as follows: 292 East 3rd St. New York, New York 10009 (Btwn. Ave C & D), The Perfect Crime, Andrew Castrucci & The Bullet Space Archive, 1983-2008, 25 years, curated by Carlo McCormick. An Urban Artists Collaboration, Nov. 21st-Dec. 20th, 2009. Opening Nov 21st, 7-9pm. Hours: Fri. 3-7pm, Sat., Sun. 1-6pm. Or by appt., or chance. And some of those artists participating in that installation were Miguel Algarin, Steve Cannon, Brendan Carney, Andrew Castrucci, Paul Castrucci, Nadia Coen, Marguerite Van Cook, Thom Corn, Yolanda Crespo, Anton Van Dalen, John Farris, Chris Flash, Chico Garcia, Missing Foundation, Marlis Momber, Frank Morales, Cookie Mueller, Robert Parker, Aaron Perez, Pedro Pietri, Miguel Pinero, Rolando Politi, Lee Quinones, John Ranard, James Romberger, David Yanez and more.
And this art event squatter rocks. Free The world, Housing is a Human Right, Squat The Land, Squat or Rot. Have a great squatter art day.
