And since I have been finding myself blaghing about jazz, music, art and events in that city of New York a lot, every so often lately, I might as well blah blog about this one to be found in that All About Jazz newspaper that I came across in one of those all about jazz clubs and bars to be found in that city of New York. And so that Vision Festival XV, that all about jazz festival, is happening again this year in the city of New York. And I know because that copy of that All About Jazz newspaper says so. And its happening at A Gathering of the Tribes Gallery with a free outdoor concert, at The Local 269, at DROM, at Abrons Art Center and other venues throughout the neighborhood of the Lower East Side and East Village. And so those list of performers for this years event will include: Muhal Richard Abrams, Roy Campbell, Darius Jones, Tim Berne Crackleknob, Frank London, Matthew Shipp, Hamid Drake conduction, Fay Victor, Amiri, Amina Baraka and Rene Mclean, Borah Bergman, David S. Ware Trio, York College Blue Notes, New School DuoDuoDuo, Brooklyn College Jazz Band, Dorn Minasi, Tony Malaby conduction and a host of others. And this event Vision Festival Jazz Rocks. SEO Up This Site
Hey again bloggers, or whoever could be reading this blog. And welcome to the age of computers, the internet and just about high tech technology everything in the world of electronic gadgets and beyond. And unless you have found yourself as one of those human beings dwelling in caves here on planet earth, you may have noticed that the world now seems to be all about the web and the internet these days and times. And so along with the internet comes those websites, you know, those pages with colors all over them that you can read and visit for information on one of those computers. And if you happen to find yourself with one of those websites, you may have come across the term Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, or please list my website on the internet so that people can find it if they were to search for it and so that my website can get lots and lots of visitors. And could those internet search engines somehow list my website in the top one results to be found and not in the search engine graveyard of page one million and one where in will not be found. And so along comes the seo company to go along with that SEO up my website request. And I imagine there must be lots of search engine optimization companies and websites to be found out there in cyberworld internetland for this very purpose, and as I can recall, SEO’ing up ones website seems to be all the rage these internet days. And if you can’t figure it out how to put your website in search engine heaven, I imagine one of those SEO companies can, as they are all seo all the time.![]()
Cars
Cars and Automobiles. I have seen those objects on the roads and streets seemingly just about everywhere I go and have gone throughout my travels here on planet earth, as those automobiles seem to be those objects that move people from place to place around town and beyond. And those cars seem to be synonymous with the word oil and gasoline that are used to make them go around town, though with todays environmentalism and go green thing, some of those cars use electricity to get around town. And so if you find yourself as one of those human beings dwelling here on planet earth using one of those automobiles to get around town and beyond, you may sometimes find yourself in search of auto insurance in Texas for some reason or another, especially if you find yourself in the state of Texas. And as far as I can recall, insurance seems to be a part of life, the idea of securing one life, home, car or some other material possession. And what would life be like without insurance, I am not exactly sure. Though with the invention of all things high tech technology everything internet and beyond, if you find yourself looking for some kind of insurance, finding it can be just a website visit away.![]()
Glasses
Opticals, eye glasses, glasses, eye wear. However one calls those objects to be found here on planet earth that people wear to help see better, I have seen plenty of them around town and beyond throughout my travels here on planet earth. And usually that eye wear comes in many shapes, designs and styles in today’s days and times. And as I can recall from those photos from long lore and decades ago, it seemed like people were wearing those black horn rimmed glasses and no other styles may have existed other than those black horned rimmed glasses, maybe. And so now with today’s technological advances, with some of those eyeglass designs, one can choose from some really fancy colors. And I even think I saw someone with some polka dotted wooden eye glasses the other day, and I think that person told me her glasses were custom made, or something like that. And so if you happen to find yourself in search of eye wear, I would imagine that with the invention of all things internet, one can now buy them online without ever having to leave home, or at least without ever having to leave a computer. And with the invention of the computer, finding those eyeglasses can be just a website visit away.![]()
An Arizona California May Day

And so looking at that Gregorian calendar on the wall, that holiday or workers of the world unite day of a May 1st day to be observed seems to be tomorrow. And so in other thoughts, that topic about an Arizona law and a California immigration debate seems to be in the news a lot lately. So much that it seems to be the headline of the day. And it seems to have something to do with people being able to travel freely, populations and an illegal immigrant law in Arizona or California. And shouldn’t people be able to travel freely in the world anywhere? And so I came across this event as one of those facebook events in my facebookaholicness where part of it reads something like a rally as follows:
“Do I Look “Illegal” Day
Location: everywhere
In defiance of the new bill in Arizona and in support of the Arizona citizens who will face harassment every time they step out their doors, the call is out for everyone to ask the question: “Do I look “illegal?” during the week of May 1st to May 8th. The focus is on raising awareness on the day of May 1st but by the overwhelming response, putting out this message is extending for the rest of the week.
Post the question as your status on Facebook. Throughout the day, send the question out on Twitter. Ask one another the question, “Do I look illegal?” Hopefully, this will get all of us thinking and discussing what exactly does “illegal” look like..
Finally, wear shirts, buttons or hold signs saying, “Do I look ‘illegal’?” and take pictures to either send the Governor of Arizona and/or post them here..
NEW INFO: If you’re in SF, there will be the usual May Day March supporting immigrant workers. This year the protest will take place on Saturday, May 1, 2010, assembling at noon at 24th and Mission streets in San Francisco, joining other May Day protests in New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, and many other cities. Show up, wear your Do I Look ‘Illegal?’ shirts, buttons etc..
This idea was initially from my roommate over a conversation the other night. Then I saw that a t-shirt was being sold that had the same message. So it made sense to take it a next step and share the idea of a “Do I Look ‘Illegal?'” Day with my FB family and friends..
And this facebook event has 77,153 confirmed guests and a host of comments to go along with it.. Wow! Is that a record for a facebook event invite? And so I thought to repost the following posts that I have posted on this blog before some time a while ago that have something to do with humanity travelling freely.
The Passport
For what reason is the number of that passport immigration law that prohibits freedom of travel amongst humanity anywhere on planet earth, and that Section 666 Social Security Act, cashless society, national I.D., the number of your name to receive any state services and everything else in between thing, 666? Is this that save no man that he may buy or sell except that he have the mark of the beast thing in the book of Revelations. Is this written in prophecy somewhere. Did George Orwell or Nostradamus predict this? Is that a coincidence or on purpose that this law has the same number of that beast thing. And who or what is the beast, and what is that mark on ones right hand or forehead. What does that mark represent or mean, if anything. And what’s up with that UPC bar code photo that I placed in this blog entry. And for what reason do all universal product codes contain this number. What the heck does that mean? Is that the number of the beast, the number of man? And what’s that New World Order, Verichip and RFID tag thing all about. Big Brother, Brave New World and technology are here and that’s a whole another blog posting. And I have heard so many green card immigration nightmare stories about green card marriages, lotteries and green card everything else in between. Of people leaving a country and not being able to return for whatever reason. And the stories of loss of life while crossing a border, whether by land or sea. And for what reason are there boarders, divisions, restrictions, barriers and territories of land in this world. And for what reason are people not free to travel anywhere in the world without the permission of someone else. Who invented this concept. Is it possible to undo this passport, visa, citizenship, where are your papers to come here law so that everyone can be free to travel anywhere in this world. For what reason does this concept exist. And who is a foreigner. Aren’t we all strangers in this land. Is another world possible. No one is free when others are oppressed. It is Sunday today, day of God, a day of rest. Or is that Saturday, the Sabbath, Sabado. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?
and then this one also….
Immigration
And on this day is Sunday, that sabbath day of rest, or is that Saturday. And yet I find myself blah blogging away for some reason on this blog. And for some reason that verse from the bible comes to mind, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head”. And that other verse, “A brother is born for adversity”. And a friend mentions to me that war is a business. Is war a business? And is it George Orwell’s statement from that nineteen eighty four movie, the war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous. And another friends mentions that another friend has been denied entry to that country of the United States, or deported from a country for various reasons. And what does that word immigration mean, to migrate, to travel? Does that internet bible dictionary Wikipedia have an entry for that. And I have heard horror stories of whole families being separated, destroyed and torn apart from this idea of Immigration And Naturalization Services, INS company that seems to be some form of modern day slavery to me. And what about those visas, green cards, forms, applications, petitions, employment, interviews, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, residence alien from outer space, illegal aliens, refugee, asylee, settlement, immigrant, nonimmigrant, genealogy, nationality, naturalization things. What does this all mean. Are we all not foreigners and strangers in this land. The whole idea that one can prevent another from travelling freely from one place to another on this planet of earth I can not comprehend. And has humanity become slave to computers, that modern invention of technology, to where one is no longer a human, but becomes a robot to technology, a machine, some sort of beast like thing. No one is free when others are oppressed. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?![]()
The Hotel
Vacations. It seems as if everyone could use one of those vacations every so often, the idea of getting away from the everyday routine for some fun in the sun or what not; just like one of those tourists traveling around in seek of an adventure of some sort. And so, along with those vacations, and being one of those tourists in search of sights and attractions, comes the question of where am I going to stay while on this vacation. And so along comes caribbean hotels, Ocho Rios hotels and all inclusive hotels. And these hotels can especially come in handy if one is traveling to the caribbean or Ocho Rios in search of some of those hotels to stay at and have an adventure at the same time. And from what I recall, the Caribbean islands have always been seen as one of those beautiful and exotic places to visit according to those travel brochures with all those photos of those sunny beaches and blue skies all over the pictues. And what better way to visit the Caribbean or Ocho Rios than to stay at one of these hotels located there. And for all I know, those hotels are so fancy that one could possibly want to consider taking a vacation to the hotel alone and never leaving it, except at time of checkout. Some hotels, as I have seen throughout my travels here on planet earth can be so fancy, with such rich amenities that staying at the hotel can be vacation enough on its own. So if you happen to find yourself in search of one of those; all inclusive hotels and more can be the way to go.![]()
A Gathering of the Tribes
Hey again bloggers, and in my lack of things to blah blog about in my blogaholicness when encountering that blaghers block, I find myself blaghing about art music, poetry, and events again since I seem to be on a roll or something in posting about art events this past week or so. And so along comes May Day, that workers of the world unite of a holy holiday day. And Steve Cannon’s Tribes Gallery, that cool creative and cultural building to be found in that neighborhood of the Lower East Side, now called the East Village for real estate marketing purposes maybe, will be one of the many venues having a May Day event on May 1st. An Art Show
Hey bloggers, or whoever could be reading this blog. And in my facebookomaniaoholicness, I came across this following art event to be found in that city of New York as one of those many events that seem to appear daily on that facebook website. And every so often I find myself blah blogging about events on this blog for some reason or another, and also because hey, it’s less writing sometimes in my attempt to maintain content for this blog whenever possible in that web 2.0 user generated social media content era. And those facebook events seem to be endless. And this event art rocks. Have a great art day.
Overstimulated
Overstimulated is a student-curated takeover of a commercial retail space in lower Manhattan’s South Street Seaport, only a few blocks from the student’s university: PACE. A bridge project pulling from the student’s own work to those of their mentors and professors, and extending the collaborators that the student’s have been experimenting with outside of the university, this large scale group show of peers, faculty, and friends represents and celebrates the transition from campus life into the hustling New York art-world.
Almost 50 participating artists with work ranging from fabric installations, interactive sculptures, live painting, photography, film, collage, drawings, and digital illustrations create an immersive environment to explore and lose yourself in throughout the week’s packed schedule of events filled with live music, theater, poetry, and film screenings.
