De Tech
And while I am on the topic of tech and Internet, is it possible to de tech ones lives. As I am still finding myself in need on an anti Internet get sleep soon routine with computer overload and everything computer sometimes. And what about all of those other high tech electronic gadgets and devices that are easy to get addicted to these days, or at least easy to use a lot these days. What about those iPods, answering machines, crackberry blackberries, DVD’s, CD’s, VHS’s, Cassettes, robots, touch screens, voice prompts, hardware, software and the age of The Jetsons cartoon show everywhere. What will happen if I try and go a day without using them, will the world end? Will I start suffering withdrawal of some sort. How was life before the invention of all of these high tech devices that are so much a part of life these days. I imagine books, television, radio and lots of campfires were the method of entertainment is prehistoric before the invention of the Internet times. And what about shopping, is it possible to stop shopping altogether. What about over consumerism consumer consuming everything and go green thing in this disposable everthing material society one lives in concept. It’s like Babylon, Babylon, and more Babylon. And how exactly does one stop shopping; throw away the credit cards, recycle, barter, trade, have nothing? Is that a question for Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping Choir? This Computer
There is a copy of Windows For Dummies on the floor here and I have found myself reading it back and forth and over and over again the past few days in my vain attempt to fix this computer as it could be in need of one of those computer repair fixes. I have been reading that book so much that my eyes are bleary. Can Norton antivirus fix this computer, as I blogged about their computer software a couple of days ago and I do remember their website says they can save your computer from viruses and all the other evildoers out there in Internetland. I sometimes get stranded on the Internet superhighway. And who can save a computer when it just crashes or does not want to work at all even without being on the Internet. Is there a magic cure all fix short of just throwing the computer away and buying another one. Radio Drama
Somehow I found myself following the story of the latest WBAI radio drama today. WBAI 99.5 Pacifica Radio is a listener sponsored radio station in the New York City area and one of the last community radio stations around that gives an alternative voice to the people. I have been listening to their radio station for seemingly forever. They are having their Local Station Board Elections now and so they had one of their candidate election debate forums and one of the many listener input and feedback radio programs today. Celestine Prophecy
What the heck is the Celestian Prophecy? I was talking with a friend the other day about whatever subjects came to our mind and the topic of the Celestian Prophecy came up. I forgot how my friend described it to me but it sounds like another one of those spiritual, mystical hoo doo end of the world prophecies. Does it have to do with Celestial Seasonings Herbal Teas and the stars of the sky also? Lets see what Wikipedia, that Internet Bible dictionary says. Oh, Wikipedia calls it the Celestine Prophecy and says it has something to do with a new age guidebook about spiritual transformation and spiritual evolution. Is that the Mayan Calendar, Da Vinci Code and Nostradamus prophecy rewritten again? And there seems to be all sorts of movies, books and visions about it. I still do not understand what the Celestine Prophecy is and what it’s all about. Maybe I should call and ask my friend again. What is that Celestine Prophecy again?
