Music

And from what I can recall, music makes the world go round. And music can make you dance. And I have been hearing so many songs and more songs since I found myself as one of those dwellers here on planet earth. And then there are those many forms that music can and has been found in to listen to that music, as I can remember the eight track tape, the cassette tape, the vinyl lp and even the is it the 45 record of long lore ago. And so that is exactly that, those music playing formats of long lore ago. And so welcome to the age of high tech technology seemingly everything and free mp3 streaming . And I would assume that if you have not heard of that term mp3 by now when it comes to music, that you must have been living in a cave the past ten years or so, maybe. And if you happen to have one of those computers, blackberry’s, iPhones, mobile phones or other high tech gadgets, you can download a ton of songs online and listen to them anywhere on the go. And with the age of MySpace, Twitter, Facebook and other social media networks, you can now share that music with anyone. And what an awesome idea this whole concept is to me even to this high tech communications day. And what a ways from long lore ago the age of music and communications has transformed itself. Have a great music and more day.

SXSW 2010

Hey Bloggers, or whoever could be reading this blog. And even when the world seems as if it could be falling down all around me and going to hell in a hand basket, that festival SXSW is still happening again this year. I know because that ad in this weeks copy of the Village Voice newspaper says so. And I have found myself blah blogging about this seemingly indie rock and beyond end all to be all of concerts before on this blog, as this concert seems to make its way around on that Gregorian calendar each year. And that South by Southwest festival is where music, film, conferences and more seem to happen in is it Austin, Texas. And this festival SXSW rocks. And so some of the bands and performers to be found there this year include:

A New Orleans Jazz Festival

And New Orleans is having a New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. I know because that copy of this weeks Village Voice says so. And so I thought to post this announcement on this blog because hey, it’s less writing sometimes in my attempt to maintain content for this blog whenever possible.
And that ad to be found in that weekly seemingly underground aboveground paper in New York with its bold yellow color and drawing of a dancing person made of music says something like “Come Marching In. April 23-25 & April 29-May 2, with performers Simon & Garfunkel, Pearl Jam, Aretha Franklin, Van Morrison, Lionel Richie, Anita Baker, Allman Brothers Band, My Morning Jacket, The Neville Brothers, Widespread Panic, Darius Rucker, B.B. King, Jeff Beck, Gipsy Kings, The Black Crowes, Band of Horses, Baaba Maal, Average White Band, George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Richie Havens, Rebirth Brass Band, Blues Traveler and a host of other performers and hundreds more, and the list goes on and on. And this event sounds like one impressive line up of a music event. Have a great New Orleans music day.

Music

I need to dance, for inspiration. Isn’t that the lyrics to some song somewhere. And music makes the world go round. And from what I have heard before, if one is troubled to no avail, one can always take to the dance floor to dance their troubles away, as music can make for merriment, maybe. And then welcome to the world of digital technology, the internet and the MP3 Search, where most of that music one can search for can now be found online more so than the local music store. And whatever happened to the eight track, cassette tapes and vinyl, those seemingly dinosaur mediums of long lore ago that have seemingly been replaces by modern communications technology, CD’s and those MP3’s. And hey, its seems like it can be a whole lot easier searching for that mp3 music on a MP3 search engine to be found on the computer anyway than trecking around town in search of that same song when it can now be found without ever having to leave home, or at least without ever having to leave a computer. And who are some of those artists to be found on mp3 out there such as Madonna, Usher, Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, Shakira and a whole lot of other artists to be found in internet land. With MP3 searching, searching for that MP3 has never been easier.

A Downtown Brooklyn Holiday Welcome Center

Hey bloggers, or whoever could be reading this blog. And somehow I found myself in front of Modell’s at a Downtown Brooklyn Holiday Welcome Center today for some reason or another, in what seemed like the freezing cold of yet another New York City winter. And oh, I guess I found myself there to listen to that band Underground Horns that I sometimes find myself listening to every so often for some reason or another. And wow, the Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz was a guest speaker there also. And so I found myself there see the president. And see the president of Brooklyn and the Underground Horns play some audio gumbo I did. And I guess those downtown welcome centers that seemed to be sponsored by the The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, The Court, Livingston, Schermerhorn Business Improvement District, Fulton Mall Improvement Association and MetroTech Business Improvement District in Brooklyn are to usher in the holiday shopping, shopping and more shopping season every Wednesday in December in that city of Brooklyn to be found in that City of New York, as I think that’s what the Brooklyn Borough President said in his speech today when he held up one of those Shop Downtown Brooklyn tote bags that encourage shoppers to support the local businesses this holiday season. And these Brooklyn Business Improvement District groups seems to have events, events and more events. And Julian Peterson and the Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice Music Ensemble were performing there at Hoyt Plaza throughout that Brooklyn Business Improvement District as part of this event on this day as well. And so in yet another attempt to drag the camera out of the closet, I posted a couple of those photos from that event in this blog posting above, and a YouTube video of that event as well. And those Downtown Brooklyn Holiday Welcome Centers shopping, music and events rock. Have a great Brooklyn, New York and beyond holiday.
