Honor The Veterans?

I thought I heard someone say yesterday that today or tomorrow is Veterans Day, another one of those patriotic holidays where the flag wavers come out in force. Let me check the calendar to see. Oh yeah, the calendar says Veterans day is today. Is this day observed in America only, or is this day observed in the rest of the world also? And so I find myself reposting a posting I posted several months ago for Memorial day, another one of those patriot holidays where the American flag wavers come out in force. Veterans account for a majority of the homeless mentally ill population these days, and a majority of them are disabled now as a result. For what reason is this an honor to support? I consider myself antipsychiatricky and do not believe mental illness exists and that psychiatry kills and originates from Nazi Germany where psych cia trists were mass murderers in white coats as is the case today, and that the mental death system is also an extension of Orwellianism, where family members turn in family members, and neighbors turn in neighbors to the thought police for thought crimes. Psychiatry and psych trickery is an art and not a science. And so I would like to think of mental illness as problems in living. And I believe in the abolishment of forced psych cia trick treatment that is often cruel and inhumane. Therapy? The rap y? Y the rap? Therapist, The rapist. Mind Freedom is a great website to read for all things alternative to the mental death system. And so today is Memorial Day in America. I mean Veterans day in America. A celebration of the war day. Another one of those patriotic holidays. The flag wavers are out and yellow ribbons, badges of honor, medals, parades, marches, prayers, patriotic songs, tributes and ceremonies are being broadcast everywhere. The headlines read “Honor the dead soldiers, honor the fallen soldiers and comrades”. Today is the ultimate patriotic fanatic holiday, or the ultimate hate hour as George Orwell might say. My question of the day; for what reason is it an honor to volunteer to be fodder for the canon. For what reason is it an honor to die for nothing, to fight for reasons that do not exist, to fight against the flesh for powers that be that one cannot even see. For what reason is it an honor to be so poor that one will volunteer their life in exchange for money after one leaves the service, if one leaves the service. For what reason is it an honor for persons to be brainwashed with propaganda, theirs or mine. For what reason is it an honor to become a violent person and pick up a gun and kill another person for no reason at all, except for the fact that guns have been invented, the worst invention of an industry ever. For what reason is it an honor to be a veteran who now make up the majority of the homeless population. For what reason is it an honor to attend one of those military sponsored funerals and cry over the image of a flag that propagates violence, the same flag that caused ones death. For what reason is it an honor to fall and die for nothing. For what reason is it an honor to promote this ideology. What is heroic about all of this? And why does the word “Patriot” have the word “Riot” in it? And why does the word “Military” militant militia have the word “Mal” in it? “Parens Patriae, father of the people”, the guardian. That phrase seems to be the basis of an endless amount of death and suffering in the world; the protection of property or other material things. I saw Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 documentary. It is nineteen eighty four and Orwellianism is everywhere at its best today. Is it written somewhere that this must all come to pass? Happy beach bar b queing Memorial day, I mean Veterans day. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

A New York City Pass

Now that’s interesting. I have never heard of a New York CityPass, or at least a tourism New York City pass. Yet the City Pass website says “Give the gift of NYC this holiday with a CityPass”. Now that sounds like it can be fun. If it cheaper than those New York City Metro passes to travel, then I may opt to become a full time tourist with this pass. It sounds like it can be a great way to travel around town and do all of your errands while seeing tourist attractions at a great price. Okay, well, according to the City Pass website, they offer the best of New York City with tickets to six of the city’s icon attractions in a pocket sized booklet you can buy for half price. The passes are perfect for visiting friends or relatives and locals alike. The CityPass makes an affordable and unique gift for this Holiday. Each booklet has a ticket to The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the new Greek and Roman galleries, Museum of Modern Art, Guggenheim Museum and the American Museum of Natural History. Plus, a trip to the top of the Empire State Building Observatory and tour of the Manhattan skyline from the water aboard a Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise, along with a map, public transportation information and insider tips on the best time to visit each attraction. And their CityPass is sold at 50% off the combined admission price compared to the price if the tickets were purchased separately. With just a few clicks on their website, you have a ticket booklet to the most famous museums and experiences New York City has to offer. Happy travels and tourism. This is a sponsored post.

Christmas Lending

Now I find the following press release interesting. So much that I wanted to post about it. I thought only America was in debt with that stock market falling due to delinquent loans, mortgages and foreclosures, so much that the Federal Reserve is printing up extra money to cover it all. Well, I guess according to the following press release, the Brits in the UK are in debt also and savebuckets.co.uk can help you save buckets on your Christmas shopping this year. They are a new price comparison site with some interesting research into Christmas spending and debt. Happy Holy dayze. This is a sponsored post.

GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST HAUNTS INDEBTED BRITS

– New price saving site launches to save Brits up to 20% this Christmas –

As the nation approaches the final countdown to Christmas, new research rings alarm bells over the financial impact of Christmas in credit crunch Britain. The research from the new money saving website Savebuckets.com reveals that as Brits prepare for Christmas, many are still paying off last year’s festive spending.

With 41 per cent of Britons paying for Christmas on credit last year, almost one in five are still paying for last year’s festivities (17%), fewer than one in three having cleared their Christmas debts when their January credit card bill arrived (29%).

Following a year of consumer confidence in 2006, Christmas spending soared 52 per cent in two years (from an average £548 per adult in 2004* to £837 per adult in 2006), with over one in five Brits spending over £1,000 on Christmas last year (22%). This year, with spending power at its lowest level for 10 years**, consumers are feeling the financial hangover from a more confident Christmas enjoyed on the credit card and loans.

Alarmingly, it is cash strapped youngsters and low income earners who, having spent the most on last Christmas, are most likely to be feeling the repercussions of last year’s spending spree (see figures below).

The research into the financial impacts of last Christmas amongst a GB representative sample of 2,000 British adults was carried out by the new money savings website Savebuckets.com which launches this week to enable Brits to get more for their money this Christmas.

With these alarming figures in mind, Savebuckets.com will give shoppers the opportunity to save up to 20% on their Christmas shopping. Putting consumers back in control of their spending, the site searches over 700 retailers for the best price on around one million products. The site includes a unique price checker which allows consumers to set the price they want to pay for items, notifying them when the price of a product falls to within their budget.

The Beast

Abracadabra! Open sesame! Fire, Earth, Air, Water, Metal, Wood. It is still Halloween today. And this day could be a blessing or a curse, as that is what the word abracadabra means according to that Internet dictionary Wikipedia. “Avracadabra” is derived from the Hebrew, ha-brachah, meaning “the blessing” and dabra, an Aramaic form of the Hebrew word dever, meaning “pestilence”. And it is also the origin of the name of that fat bellied demon Abraxas, a Gnostic word for God which was thought to be a spell of great power. His name adds up to exactly 365, whatever that could mean. And it is magic and occult. And for what reason does that triangle photo placed in this blog entry look like half of a pentagram, I am not sure. And today is that scary, supernatural and mystical time of year when the devil, Satan, Christ and the spirits of the dead come to town. When Pan and the Grim Reaper awakes and witchcraft, witches, gargoyles and Gothics come out to play and when one gets to masquerade and play dress up for whoever they want to be. And in a change of topic that comes to mind, I am thinking of that great beast in Revelations, as those California wildfires are still burning and they are reminding me of Armageddon or the apocalypse or something enough to make me think it is the beginning of the end. Or maybe it is just global warming or mother nature. And I also seem to be running out of things to blah blog about these days again. And so those religious thoughts come to mind again as I ask myself, who or what is that beast that is to be found in the Book of Revelations. Who or what is this beast that seems to have its grip on mankind and the world and will not let go in the seemingly endless amount of atrocities that happen on a daily basis in the world these days that are too innumerable to mention with no end in sight. Who or what does the beast represent? Is it that beast that Babylon sits on that I posted about a few postings ago. And when I think of the beast, more thoughts come to mind; Babylon, confusion, the anti Christ, technology, the microprocessor, a cashless society, the Middle East, the European Union, globalism, security, terrorism, nuclear energy, national I.D’s, the collapse of morality, trials and tribulations, wars and rumors of wars and Satan ruling the world etc;. Are these some of the top ten prophecy signs of the beginning of the end. And again when I think of the beast I think of gun violence and glory, the worst invention of an industry ever, and all of the things that kill man, man made or nature; wars, famine, disease, plagues, wild beasts, and save no man that he may buy or sell except that he has the mark of the beast upon his forehead, or is that his right hand, for it is the number of a man, 666. Whatever that means. And who are those beasts full of eyes, and those horses that are to be found in Revelations. That could be a whole another blog posting. And much like the verse of Babylon, there is a wealth of information to be interpreted. And so to make this blog posting an even longer posting to read and possibly the longest posting I have posted yet.., I am posting that all to familiar verse to be found in the book of Revelations. If you believe. Watch and be ready. Happy Halloween.

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

All Saints Day

Abracadabra! Halloween is just around the corner and coming soon. So the calendar and advertising says so. It’s All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day, The Day of the Dead when ghosts and spirits appear. That scary, supernatural and mystical time of year when the the devil, Satan, Christ and the spirits of the dead come to town. When Pan and the Grim Reaper awakes and witchcraft and the witches and gargoyles and gothics come out to play and one when one gets to masquerade and play dress up for whoever they want to be. If only every day of the year could be Halloween then one could look however they want to when they go outside around civilization because hey, it’s Halloween. And there will be lots of Halloween events around the city. Two events that come to mind are of course:

The Village Halloween Parade It’s that big, major, grand. all out parade that takes place on 6th avenue every year this time of year. There will be hundreds of puppets, different types of music, dancers, artists and thousands of other people in costumes. And then there’s the Theater For The New City Village Halloween Costume Ball that takes place every year this time of year also. I think I even heard stories that they were the original creaters of The Village Halloween Parade. They usually have this really cool painted fishpond upstairs that is painted all Halloween up for every Halloween and their downstairs walls are painted with those really col Halloween murals every year this time of year also. Their event is an all out grand event also with a slew of performers, artists, sculptures and designers. Some of their performers for that night are The Great Paprika Band, Hot Lavendar Swing Band, Penny Arcade, Steve Ben Israel, Epstein and Hassan, Eve Packer, Jonathan Weber, Walter Gurbo, Mark Marcante, Crystal Field, Judy Sky, David Willinger and a ton of other performers. There will be stilt danders, jugglers, fire eaters, theater, vaudeville, burlesque and more. Happy Halloween.

Okto Beer Fest

Wilkommen zu Bayern! Welcome to Munich. It’s Oktoberfest time of year again. Or is that Okto beer festival time again. Could that also mean drink eight beers festival? Octoberfest, what an interesting German holiday that seems to be observed in America with a lot of festivities and parties of all you can drink beer events. What is the meaning of that holiday, as I am sure its history which originates in Munich Germany, the capital of all things beer, is full of meaning. Is their national symbol a beer mug? And there’s that great German beer hall Zum Schneider Restaurant & Bavarian Biergarten located in the East Village, New York City that everyone seems to flock to these days for all things Germany and all things beer that will be having its Oktoberfest festivities starting this weekend from September 29th – October 14th. There will be Live Oompah. Like every year they will have have Spass with countless Wies’n hits, a special Oktoberfest menu, Riesen Wies’n Brez’n, various Oktoberfest beers, and an atmosphere where you can sing.

Riesen Wies’n Spass

Ist die Brez’n erstmal knusprig
dann wird’s schon mal richtig lustig

weil es ist die Wies’n Zeit
wo sich treffen alle Leut

wenn der Bierschaum überquillt
werden’s alle zum Freiwild

Mannderl, Weiberl, Hund und Katz
alle machen jetzt Rabatz

I am not sure what that German saying above translates to in English, but it sure looks like it says something cool.

Coptic Calendar

Coptic calendar? You mean everyone in the world does not follow the Gregorian calendar? I’ve heard of the Mayan calendar, but the Coptic calendar? There was an article in yesterdays newspaper titled “Ethiopia: Coptic Millennium”, and the article says, Ethiopia, which follows the Coptic calendar, which is based on the ancient Egyptian calendar, is ringing in he 21st century with all night parties and concerts. What? Does that mean they will be adjusting their computers for that y2k thing like the rest of the world went through seven years ago. That’s interesting how another part of the world can live seven years behind in time from another part of the world. How does that work? Is that a different year zone? Does that affect their age? And how do the Ethiopians fill out those bureaucratic paperwork forms with a different year? What if they were to move to a different part of the world, can they still use the same date. How does that work. How does one calculate time; the days, seasons and solar years. How interesting.

Santa and Satan

Hey Bloggers, I know it’s not Christmas or the end of the world yet, but I can’t wait for Christmas or the end of the world to roll around to blah blog this thought I have. I want to ask someone, or anyone who may be reading this blog, why does the word Santa have the same letters as Satan? Any why do both of these characters wear red, white and black and are mythical and magical figures that one has never really seen, except if someone dresses up like them. And why is Satan the opposite of Christ, who is Santa at Christmas? And both of these characters are bearers of light and gifts and are able to change forms like angels. Are they both deceivers also? What is the meaning of these two figures relations. Does Wikipedia have an answer for that.

Day of Labour

According to the Gregorian Calendar, tomorrow marks the beginning of Labor Day weekend in America. And at first thought, I would assume this is another American holiday that is observed only in America and no where else in the world. I guess it’s meaning is what the advertisers say; back to work, back to school, end of summer, beginning of fall. And the word “Work” comes to my mind as I translate it’s different meanings. “Work in Spanish, trabajar which sounds like trouble in English which sounds like travel in English which sounds like travile in French which translates to pain in French which sounds like pan in English which translates to bread in Spanish which is dollar in English which translates to dolores in Spanish which means pain in Spanish again.” And so this translation makes me think it is all money, travel and pain again and this verse from the Bible comes to mind. “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows”. 1 Timothy 6:10. Workers of the world unite. And what does this have to do with a No Police State? Happy Labor day weekend.

Superstitious?

Again I seem to be finding myself running out to things to blah blog about. And I find myself writing about events and a lot of holidays just to come up with ideas of something to write about for this blog. And how do the other bloggers in the blogosphere do it, especially the bloggers with a thousand blogs. Again I can barely maintain one blog, yet alone four or five blogs as I see a lot of others bloggers maintain. And so today the thought of the day is another holiday is here, or a significant date on the calendar has arrived. The day after tomorrow (not the movie), is Friday the 13th. Are you superstitious? Can you see things from beyond and out of the ordinary? If you are superstitious you might want to consider not getting out of bed or leaving home, for isn’t the number 13 suppose to be considered bad luck? According to the Secret Language of Birthdays, the most misunderstood card in the Tarot is the 13th card of the Major Arcana, Death, which rarely is to be taken literally but signifies a letting go of the past in order to grow beyond limitations, metamorphically. Those born on the 13th of the month are ruled by the number 4 (1+3=4), and by the planet Uranus which is both erratic and explosive. The number 4 typically represents rebellion, idiosyncratic beliefs and a desire to change the rules. the number 13 is a powerful number which does carry the responsibility of using its power wisely or inviting self destruction. Well that is the number 13, but what about Friday the 13th, what does that mean? Or maybe you would want to leave home this day, but watch out for black cats, broken mirrors, ladders and cracks in the sidewalk. Happy Friday the 13th.
