Blog Action Day

According to the website Blog Action Day, yesterday October 15th was Blog Action Day, so this posting can be a bit late in honor of that day. And I noticed postings everywhere yesterday and today in the blogosphere in honor of Blog Action Day. There were postings on Blogger, MyBlogLog and a host of other places. And I noticed the postings though it did not register to me what they were about until today, a day later. Blog Action day is a website that asks bloggers to write about something pertaining to saving the environment and saving the world. They are asking people to observe this day in their blog posts everywhere. They are asking bloggers everywhere to post about the environment in some sort of way relating to the environment for the environment. So in my post I can only mention what has been mentioned a thousand and a million times in recent years with the invention of population to where the earth is on fire and choking from its inhabitants. Planet mother earth is dying. And that J curve bell curve thing says the population of the world will double in twenty years. And there are those terms that I read everywhere these days to save the environment; Go green, green is the thing, sustainability and sustaining the earth from what? Over consumption, over consumerism, over pollution, overoilism, over capitalism, overeverything, Babylon on fire and green alternative energy; lights out america is a great website that addresses this issue. And what about oil? Petroleum oil seems to be destroying the world and planet mother earth. What about other alternative sources of energy, windmills, ocean energy, corn fuel and the like. And what about those unusual weather patterns the earth has been undergoing as a result of global warming? Is the world becoming like the film The Day After Tomorrow? This winter was the warmest worldwide since record keeping began in 1880. And what about over mining and violating the earths natural resources and deforesting the planets natural trees. The earth is being pillaged and plundered. How can the environment be protected. And now climate change, global warming and the greenhouse effect is the topic of the day every day these days in the news. The polar bears are floating on ice and the Antarctica ice caps are disappearing. And what abut that 12.21.2012 Mayan calendar theory, is this all related? This has something do with the earth reversing its axis and solar poles and a transformation of the world in 2012 or something, I think. A poem and a sentence of a song comes to mind when I think of planet earth.

The Earth is out mother, the ground we walk is sacred
People unite, all people unite

and

The river she is flowing, flowing and growing
The river she is flowing, down to the sea
Father carry me, your child I’ll always be
Mother carry me, down to the sea

Help save planet mother earth. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

The CMJ Music Marathon Rocks

And while I am on the topic of music, according to lots of newspaper listings, The CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival is happening this week October 16-20th. And that also leads me to wonder, what exactly does the letters CMJ stand for? C Music something J. There will be music, films and panels at this event. It seems to be all rock, indie rock, all the time and more. There will be music, music and more music and bands, bands and more bands performing in venues around the New York City area such as Union Pool, Bowery Ballroom, Southpaw, Canal Room, The Delancey, The Annex, Arlene’s Grocery, The Knitting Factory, The Music Hall Of Williamsburg, Studio B, Mercury Lounge, B.B. Nublu Rocks

And so I went to go see my friends band, Funk Monk, play at Nublu last night. Nublu is this really cool club in the East Village where Brazilian Girls, Kudu, Forro in the Dark, Love Trio, Wax Poetics, Nublu Orchestra conducted by Butch Morris, The Real Live Show, ElodieO, Karina and a host of other bands and musicians have played at. They are an artists collective. And it seems as if I have been going to this place every so often over the years to listen to their music. And this excursion to listen to my friends band presented yet another great opportunity for me to get my camera out of the closet and play with it once again, as it seems as if the only purpose that it serves these days is to collect dust. And I set the alarm clock to stay awake for when they started playing, as club hour in this town seems to start at midnight, when most people are going to sleep, I think. And so I took photos and videos of the band in my latest experiment with this camera. One can see by the photo above and by the Funk Monk at NUBLU Video on my YouTube page, that these are the results. And Welf’s really cool electric synthesizer sounds on his horn rocked that night. Nublu Rocks. Long Live The Lower East Side.

Content For This Site

And so I came across this interesting sentence in one of the comments on my MyBlogLog page the other day. “Need some “Filler” for your site when you have nothing to write about?…” And just those few words alone were enough to catch my eye and get me to reading the rest of that blog comment. Am I not alone in the writers blah blog arena in not having anything to write about and thinking up all sorts of things to write about? I sometimes find myself trying to think up enough thoughts to write about to where I find myself reciting the words of dictionaries and encyclopedias over and over and posting the same post over and over. I thought about copying other websites content but I do not think that is ethical, is it? This MyBlogLog comment goes on to say “How about a Free Online Game or Games for your visitors to play?… Send me a Private Message and I will give you all the info on how to add one of our games to your website….” Oh, games? I am not sure about adding lots of games to this blog. Does this website offer written content, as I am already trying to fill up this website with as many games, videos, poems, saying, cartoons, puzzles and anything else I can think of. Is there hope for writers blah bloggers block in the web 2.0 social media internet blogosphere?

Boston

Boston, what can you say about Boston? There must be lots to say about the state of Boston. This state has a lot of history. Isn’t that where the Constitution was written? And if you want to find out more about Boston and are interested in Boston tours, the Boston Welcomes You! Visitors Guide and Directory is there to help you plan your next vacation to Boston. There must be lots of tourist attractions and things to see and do in Boston. What I remember best about Boston is that it is known for that infamous Boston Tea Party decades and centuries ago I think. And then there’s that Berklee College of Music School that a lot of classically trained musicians have attended. And isn’t this state also known as Beantown? Boston Welcomes You is a great guide for all things Boston and for information, hotels, tours, attractions, museums, sightseeing tours and much much more. They have a wonderful list of Five Must Do’s While In Boston if you are short on time in your travel vacation and the whale watching with Boston Harbor Cruises sounds really fun. The Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market sounds interesting also. It was the site of several speeches by Samuel Adams, James Otis and others encouraging independence from Great Britain, and is now part of Boston National Historical Park and a well-known stop on the Freedom Trail. Bostons motto is “Sicut Patribus Sit Deus Nobis” or “God Be with Us as He Was with Our Fathers”. Now that’s interesting. This is a sponsored post.

Love

Someone sent an interesting email to my MySpace page inbox yesterday. And the email had the words “love love love, love is the greatest therapy”. Interesting. Now that makes me think about the word love. What is it abut that word. There has been ton of things said about it throughout the beginning of time and there are another ton of quotes, sayings, phrases, poems, stories, scriptures, verses and philosophies that have been said about it since the beginning of time. Love is what makes the world go round. Without love, life can be meaningless, maybe. And many a lyrics have been sung to many a love song, and the song titles about love are endless. And many books and romance novels have been written on the topic, and they are endless. And why is the word love, evol spelled backwards? Is there some secret hidden meaning there? Is there a definition for this word. What is its meaning and how can it be summed up into one sentence, if at all? What do the horoscopes have to say about it. And regarding relationships, that’s a whole another blog posting. Loves covers all things and above all things are love. And what about divine and brotherly love. Here is an interesting verse about love, or is it charity, in the bible. Peace and love.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. 1 Corinthians 13.

Sabotage

Sabotage? What’s a sabotage. That word came across my mind the other day as I was passing the day away. What does that word mean. Is that one of those anarchists terms. And what is anarchy, the rules are there are no rules? And isn’t that the title of that way cool Beastie Boys song. I wonder what the lyrics to their “Sabotage” song is. And that song rocks. Isn’t that the title? Doesn’t it mean to squash something, to quell something, to silence something. And what is being quashed, quelled and silenced. And what is being sabotaged. And for what reason if any at all. Again, what does that Internet Bible dictionary Wikipedia have to say about this word. Is this word listed in their encyclopedia. I should go and look that word up now to see what they have to say about it. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Party Time

It’s the era of gentrification, genocide or just plain change of a different decade and this neighborhood, the East Village, New York City turns into Disneyland at night with it’s velvet rope, guest list, cabs, limousines and drunken people everywhere party scene. It seems like it is one of those neighborhoods that doesn’t wake up until midnight time when most people are going to sleep. It’s almost as if one needs to set their alarm clock just to wake up to party in this town. An what is it like to be a socialite on the social scene. And what about the nightclub scene, whats it like. Does one find themselves going out with friends or alone, meeting other people or not, being the social diva of the night networking away, or the wall flower blending into the wall with the wall paper. And can’t it be about posing, posing and lots of more posing to look cool for the scene. And what about those people watching events that can take place during the place of a night of partying. And it can be a great reason to play dressup and put on a fashion show also. And the music can be great. It’s Saturday day today at this moment. Saturday nite is near. Happy nite clubbing and partying.
