Headline News

And even though I read the most atrocious headlines on a daily business of gun violence, and people who are losing their lives to violence, enough to make me wonder if it is the beginning of the end of the world and that the world is spinning out of control. And is it Kali Yuga of the iron age descending. And I still for some reason find myself watching movies, such as Gangs of New York, that seems as if New York politics could be founded on gangs and corruption after watching it. And An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore, that seems as if it wants to talk about the end of the world also from global warming and save the world. And Basquiat, that artist whose quote in that film “Everybody wants to get on the Van Gogh boat. There’s no trip to horrible that someone wont take it”, could seemingly be real, at least in that City of New York where it seems as if every other person is an artist of some sort. And in other thoughts, what about those elections. I have heard it said that if voting changed anything it would be illegal. What does that mean. And in other thoughts again, what about that Euro News channel, that is news in Europe. It seems a completely different news than American news for some reason. And what did that news article mean when it said “A person opened fire when another person did not respond at Checkpoint Charlie and that person lost his life to gun violence for no reason at all, except for the fact that guns have been invented. And what if that person did not understand what was being said. And guns are the worst invention ever. If only guns could be abolished from every human being on the face of planet earth and from all forms of media and advertising. Does not advertising influence society. Is another world possible. Where is the world headed. No one is free when others are oppressed. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Hey bloggers, and yesterday must have been the equinox, that day of the year that has something to do with the seasons changing, the fall harvest and astrology or something. And I know yesterday must have been the equinox because an email from The Temple of Ara Mabon Celebration to honor the second harvest and the turning of the wheel that was to be found in that email inbox titled “Equinox Celebration in Central Park at 4:30 on Cherry Hill‏” said so. And what does that word equinox mean anyway. And I think that word equinox may mean equal night in another language or something, as I believe it has something to do with the day of the year where the amount of daylight hours are equal to the amount of night hours. That internet bible Wikipedia must have an entry for that word. And isn’t today the first official day of fall according to that Gregorian calendar, hence those fall winds and that latter half of the year approaching. And I thought to post that photo of that astrology guy above whose photo I have seen on the cover of that Secret Language of Birthdays book. And he seems as if he could be some magician passing to the other side, between life and death, heaven and earth or something. And that photo looks really cool. And the seasons are changing, and the times are changing. Have a great astrology, equinox, fall harvest day.

The Weather

And with a hurricane approaching the country of America, Yahoo Headlines are starting to read topics like “With a historic evacuation of 1.9 million people from the Louisiana coast complete, guntoting police and National Guardsmen stood watch for a hurricane,” and CNN headlines that read “New Orleans imposes dusk-to-dawn curfew”. And guns are the worst invention of a death industry ever. If only guns could be abolished from every human being on the face of planet earth, as if property is worth more than human life. And what would happen if no one lost their lives to gun violence today, tomorrow and thereafter, would the media and advertising industry be out of a job? And it seems to be a vicious cycle of a beast that feeds upon itself. Is another world possible. Where is the world headed. Is there hope for the world and society in these days and times. And even when it seems as if the world is falling down all around me, I still find myself blah blogging sometimes. And for some reason this verse from the bible comes to mind on this day, “So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter”. And for some reason I did not make it to that “Music Now” music event at the Brecht Forum that is taking place on this night with the Peoples Revolutionary Party and musicians The Black August Quintet with Ras,Walden Wimberley,Rashid Bakr(Charles Downs),Larry Roland,Matt Lavelle, On,Tor Yochai Snyder,Andre Martinez, The Seth Meicht Trio, James Keepnews,Mike Golub,Welf D.,Tom Chess,Matt Lavelle,Todd Nicholson,Daniel Carter,Nick Gianni and Ras Moshe. And I wanted to post a photo of those musicians performing there on this blog on this day in my blogaholicness. And that photo is not here as I am not there for some reason or another. Have a great music day.

A Full Moon

And this following passage is another one of those New Pacifica Yahoo group emails that I received in my inbox the other day. And those emails are sent by so many people that they can fill up an inbox in an hour if one is not looking. And this email is about full moons, and I found it interesting to repost, as those full moons are one of those amazing mystical, astrological, spiritual and magical events of the world to me where Dracula, witches and the werewolves come out, and as the word lunatic seems to come from lunar, and month from the word moon, that cycle of life:

New Moons and Full Moons often influence us for the 3 days before and 3 days after the actual event.

From Anne’s interpretations, The Mountain Astrologer

The Moon is Full at 29º of Scorpio
Monday, May 19, 2008 at 7:12 p.m. PDT

This Full Moon represents the 2nd of two rare consecutive Scorpio Full Moons in a row. Scorpio represents such emotionally intense and complex energy that it takes four symbols to describe and encompass Scorpio’s journey of transformation:

1) Scorpion – stinging itself or stinging others to express power or hide pain
2) Snake – shedding the constricting skin of the past
3) Phoenix – rising from destruction to be reborn
4) Eagle – able to soar higher and see farther than any other bird

It is likely that you are seeing one or more of these archetypal energies at work somewhere in your life. If you have your natal chart, look to where the transiting Moon (29º of Scorpio) and the transiting Sun (29º of Taurus) are located at this time. The issues associated with these houses are very likely where these archetypal energies are being felt the most.

Adding major stress to an already intense Full Moon is a planetary face-off in all four fixed signs (i.e., Sun in Taurus, Moon in Scorpio, Saturn in Leo, and Neptune in Aquarius). This Fixed Grand Cross really ratchets up the intensity, especially if you were born with planets in those signs. This face-off underscores the need to let go, so you can turn some corners. It may feel very unsettling, but it’s a divinely designed reality check guaranteed to increase your awareness of what’s not working. It demands that you face your illusions and peel away some significant layers of “stuckness.” It’s time to change or be changed! So, be ready and willing to move out of your comfort zone. Positive constructive focus is really a key to your sanity now.

On April 20, when the 1st Scorpio Full Moon occurred at 0º, you were called to initiate a process of physical and emotional release in at least two area of your life (i.e., in the houses where. 0º of Scorpio and 0º of Taurus are located in your natal chart). Now this 2nd Scorpio Full Moon occurs at 29º. The 29th degree of any sign is called the “critical” degree of that sign, and it indicates that a phase has come to an end in these areas and a test regarding your mastery of the lessons is being presented. Wherever this Full Moon shines its light in your natal chart tells you where transformation is underway. (If you’d like to know what areas these are, what this means for you, and how to make the most of it, contact Bernie to schedule an appointment for a personal reading.)

The previous Full Moon in Scorpio also provided a 6-month checkpoint for the intentions you seeded at the time of the New Moon in Scorpio on November 9, 2007. Your insights at that time told you where you had more forgiveness and release work to do regarding old hurts and undermining habits. This Full Moon reveals how well you’ve used those insights, what’s still not working, and where completion is now called for.

This “1” year is all about creating a new order and new life. That’s what you’ve been working on for some time. It’s as though the planets themselves are conspiring to kick-start your journey through the birth canal. And the birth process that really began with your intentions for 2008 will culminate at the time of the Summer Solstice (June 21). Before this time, you’ll want to free yourself of as much old excess baggage as possible, and that’s what this Full Moon encourages you to do.

Pluto is now moving in retrograde motion and is hovering at 0º of Capricorn. This reminds you that transformation begins internally and that truly owning your power implies responsibility. Is Capricorn a heavy weight energy? Yes! But Pluto’s retrograde motion through this sign also gives you the opportunity (now and throughout the summer) to explore new methods and tactics. This energy also encourages you to reflect on your long-range goals and the beliefs that will and won’t take you there.

In addition to Pluto, there are three other celestial bodies are about to turn retrograde:

· Chiron turns retrograde on May 25 and stays in retrograde until October 25. This encourages all of us to turn inward and reclaim our hopes and dreams. During this time, healing is likely to be done internally; then, after Chiron turns direct on October 25, our inner lessons will be brought out into the light to be shared with others who will heal from your newly gained wisdom.

· Mercury turns retrograde on May 26 and stays in retrograde until June 19. This backward movement through Gemini will encourage the break up of old mental patterning and foster the reconfiguration of new neural pathways (i.e., new ways of thinking). It is an excellent time to be exposed to new philosophies or thought-processes.

· Neptune turns retrograde on May 26 and stays in retrograde until November 1. This calls for you to turn inward and dream a new dream. Due to turning inward to explore the depths of your psyche, it is often a time when fears will come to the surface in order to be healed. However, it is also a time when your connection to Spirit/your Higher Self can strengthen and you can establish new faith and trust in this connection. Fear versus faith . . . it is a choice!

These two Scorpio Full Moons brought you a double dose of Pluto’s powerful alchemical forces of death and rebirth. However, the Sun in Taurus has lit up both of these Full Moons, meaning you’re also getting a double dose of Venus, which is the ruler of Taurus. And therein lies the key to the successful navigation of these deep turbulent waters. Use and focus on all of Venus’s strengths . . . beauty, grace, and most importantly, love. Taurus highlights your values . . . so make love your highest value. Beauty and grace are sure to follow.

The stem of the word transformation is “trans” meaning change. But the type of transformation indicated by this Full Moon is not like changing your favorite color. It’s deeper and more profound…like the caterpillar becoming a butterfly… a complete metamorphosis.

However, you’re currently in the chrysalis stage. It’s a time when significant endings and new beginnings are occurring. Remember to take care of your body, spend time connecting with nature and the earth, reflect and acknowledge your true feelings, and forgive everyone and everything . . . especially yourself. Then prepare to spread your wings. “What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly” (Chuang Tse).

Have a great astrological day

The Fifth Of May

And today, well actually yesterday according to the clock, was cinco de mayo, the fifth of may. Isn’t that some sort of holiday. And there is a cyclone in the news, many people have lost their lives to a natural disaster to planet mother earth. And I received yet another one of those Todd Eaton emails today that seem to be all protest all the time for every single cause that one can think of to save the world. And I deleted it somehow, as I thought it interesting enough to repost again. And it was about a protest tomorrow, or Friday for the latest person to lose their life to the police and gun violence. And this leads me to asking myself that question, for what reason are there so many police in New York City, its NYC MTA subway system and the world, and are there any states without police. And actually for what reason are there guns in the world. Guns are the worst invention of an industry ever. Is it possible to have a world without guns and to banish guns from every human being on the face of planet earth and to banish guns from every form of advertising and marketing and media outlet on planet earth. Does not media and advertising influence and program society. And is it possible to rewrite that fourth amendment to say the right to bear sticks and stones, or nothing, instead of the right to bear arms, as if property is worth more than human life. And it is a story that has been told yesterday and will be told tomorrow with no end in sight, that another person loses their life to gun violence for no reason at all except for the fact that guns have been invented. It is a cycle that feeds on itself. Where is the world headed. Is another world possible. No one is free when others are oppressed. And that could be a whole another blog posting. And now I have found myself looking all over the internet for that Todd Eaton email that seems as if it is lost in internetland and seemingly does not want to be found again without an email subscription. And although I can not find it again, I came across A NY Protest Calendar website that had a similar listing posted for this event:

Wednesday May 7: Sean Bell CD volunteer or risk arrest

“people who want to volunteer and be arrested send an email or call 212-690-3070.”

Latest below had been released to, which story claimed the Wednesday 3:00 pm meeting points were for folks actually seeking to risk arrest, not only for folks offering support. This below from Rayblin instead says you must RSVP by phone or e-mail in advance to learn CD locations.

Rayblin wrote:
For those who wish to support and not be arrested, the coalition is asking for support by appearing at any of the following sites by 3:00 pm. The locations for Wednesday’s gatherings are as follows:

1. Third Avenue at 125th Street;
2. Park Avenue at 34th Street
3. Third Avenue at 60th Street
4. Varick and Houston Streets
5. One Police Plaza; behind 1 Centre St.
6. 415 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, House of the Lord Church

Support Sean Bell and Family – Calling All Civil Disobedients

Sean Bell’s Family seeks your support. They have solicited the support of Reverend Daughtrey, of the House of the Lord Church, the National Action Network, and various City Council Members, including Charles Barron, to work with the community to develop a people’s strategy for justice.

They have initiated organizing efforts at 1199’s Martin Luther King Auditorium, where community leaders and concerned people met to discuss possible actions and collective demands. The Civil Disobedience Committee, where people volunteer to gather in various locations throughout the city, hold hands for a city wide Pray-in, and sit-down until arrested.

Below is a quote from Al Sharpton that explains best the goals of the Civil Disobedience and all other related actions:

The goal of the protests is to tie up traffic and force police to make arrests. Sharpton says the protests will continue on a weekly basis, leading up to what he hopes will be a citywide shutdown. “If you’re not going to lock up the guilty in this town, then I guess you’re going to have to lock up the innocent. Since you won’t lock up the cops, then lock up those that are fighting for justice,” said Sharpton.

“On Wednesday, please come out and we’re going to do this peacefully, like we always have,” said Paultre-Bell, Sean Bell’s Widow.

I am asking for people who want to volunteer and be arrested to send an email to: the.frontlines at Please bear in mind that the goal is to be arrested, not confront the police. This is a city wide pray in. Time and place of actual meeting place will be available once having being identified as a Civil Disobedient.

Each team of CD volunteers will have one lawyer who will work to ensure that every single member is released as soon as possible, once arrested. Each team will be headed by two captains who will work to coordinate contact information, do crowd control, and all other issues related to the Civil Disobedience action. Each team will have one staff person from National Action Network helping to coordinate and support.

For those who wish to support and not be arrested, the coalition is asking for support by appearing at any of the following sites by 3:00 pm. The locations for Wednesday’s gatherings are as follows:

1. Third Avenue at 125th Street
2. Park Avenue at 34th Street
3. Third Avenue at 60th Street
4. Varick and Houston Streets
5. One Police Plaza
6. 415 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.

“There will be small groups in each place and they will meet there at the same time and at the same time we are going to have a city-wide pray-in,” said Sharpton. “Where we going those that know won’t say and those that say don’t know.”

Otherwise come and support at any of the following six sites and be there by 3 pm

And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Earth Day

Hey Bloggers, is tomorrow Earth Day in the world, or just North America? I received another one of those Todd Eaton emails weekly calendar protests schedules today that seem to be all protest all the time, and it had the following event listed:

Apologies for the short notice but we just found out that ExxonMobil is sponsoring tomorrow’s Go Green Earth Day Festival in McCarren Park. ExxonMobil is also responsible for the largest oil spill in America’s history, larger than the Exxon Valdez, just meters away from where the festival will be taking place!

Other festival sponsors include BP America, Waste Management, and Forest City Ratner Company (responsible for the Atlantic Yards project). These companies are no friend to our community, and no friend to the environment.

Please join the Greenpoint SuperFUNd SuperFriendz in taking immediate action.

Join us at McCarren Park for a protest rally. We’re calling on you to help reclaim Earth Day from the greenwashers and reclaim the oil from McCarren Park!

Reclaim the Oil!
Saturday, April 19, 11:00 am
Meet at Driggs and N. 12th St.
L to Bedford Av

There’s oil a plenty underfoot and we oil men will be on hand with rig, drills, and buckets to reclaim our oil and our earth (day).

Dear Exxon, We Drink Your Milkshake!

About Greenwashing:

The term is generally used when significantly more money or time has been spent advertising being green (that is, operating with consideration for the environment), rather than spending resources on environmentally sound practices. This is often portrayed by changing the name or label of a product, to give the feeling of nature, for example putting an image of a forest on a bottle of harmful chemicals. Environmentalists often use greenwashing to describe the actions of energy companies, which are traditionally the largest polluters.

About the Greenpoint Exxon Mobil Oil Spill:

Between 17 and 30 million gallons of oil lie beneath North Brooklyn.

And again, today on this day there was an earth quake in middle midwest america. And that reminds me of an article I read a few weeks ago about scientists hearing noise in the ocean, like earthquakes that have never been heard before or something….. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

A Film Festival

Gee, I turn on the news on this day and it says that there was an earthquake in the midwest felt as far away as several surrounding states from which it was centered. And this seems to be considered as earth day nears, the effects of mother nature and its fury, or its natural changes of itself. And I am always scared of those natural disasters of planet mother earth with humanity on its surface. And in other thoughts, the entertainment headlines say that the Tribeca Film Festival is in town April 23 through May 4. The lower Manhattan event celebrating independent film. And here is a partial list of some of those film selections that will be shown as part of it, as this event seems as if it can be the end all to be all in the independent film world. These Days

According to that Gregorian calendar, Earth Day and May Day are nearing again this time of year. And what can I say about these days and times except help save planet mother earth. And I thought to repost that Greenpeace polar bear video and even an excerpt from last years Earth Day posting that I blah blogged about because I am starting to realize as a blogaholic that these days, times and years sometimes repeat themselves:
The earth is on fire. Planet mother earth is dying. It is being pillaged and plundered. Antarctica is disappearing. The polar bears are floating away on ice. The bees are dying, the bats are disappearing, the frogs are disappearing, wheat is disappearing, the price of oil is going up along with the economy going down or up, the population is population, Global warming, the greenhouse effect, Babylon on fire, overpollution, overpopulation, overoilism, overconsumerism, overcapitalism, overeverything. Here is a Hopi Indian Prophecy: There will come a time when the Earth grows sick and when it does a tribe will gather from all the cultures of the world who believe in deed and not words. They will work to heal it…they will be known as the “Warriors of the Rainbow”. Go Green, it’s the newest thing. Let us shine together to make our earth more beautiful.
And in other thoughts May Day is nearing also. And what is May Day, isn’t’ that that workers of the world unite holiday. And from what I can remember, there are usually a lot of events held throughout the world to coincide with these days. And here are some of them that I thought to repost:
Information is strength, knowledge is power. Workers of the world unite.
Blackkat will have its annual Blackkat Mayday party. Blackkat organized the first annual Squatter Mayday parties fifteen years ago at Tompkins Square Park. These days squatters have been thrown out and bought out and squatting no longer exists on the Lower East Side which is now called the East Village for real estate marketing purposes maybe, so the most recent mayday parties are of the rave scene.
The 10th Annual Blackkat Mayday 2008. Sunday April 27th, Tompkins Square Park. Free.
Featuring : Grandmaster Caz,Lenny Dee and more. With the Blackkat crew : Jason Bk,Arrow Chrome,The Eye, Dennis the Menance. The Hungry March Band and special guests. With live silkscreening and artwork by Peripheral Media Projects.
We invite any and all local and global activist groups to bring a table, flyers, sign up sheets, and banners to set up a booth at the event—please contact us if interested.
And then there is an Earth Day New York whose title seems as if it should have something to do with Earth Day. And there is also the Global Marijuana March as well. And then there is an email titled ” Longshoremen to close ports on West Coast May 1st to protest”. And I imagine there are many, many, many more of these protests and events to be found on this day, though I am not exactly sure where they are. Here’s wishing you a Happy Earth And May Day. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

The Weather

Hey bloggers. What’s going on with the weather. Is this 2012 earth changing its axis end of the world thing getting nearer or something. Are there some unusual weather patterns going on in the world right now. I look around outside in New York City and people are wearing t shirts and flip flops in the middle of January. And I turn on the news and those weather reports are saying there was snow in Iraq, for the first time in recent memory or something. And then there were twisters and tornadoes in the Midwest with photos of people going through the rubble of the aftermath of a tornado in winter coats. All of these rare weather events in the middle of January. And what are the polar bears doing. Are they floating on ice yet. And that “Go Green” motto in the media seems to be the thing every where these things, as it is now the norm for environmentally conscious measures to take place for the earth to sustain itself. Is the earth on fire now? Is it becoming like the day after tomorrow, the movie. Is overoilism, over consumerism, over plasticism, over energy, over mining, over oceanism, over pillaging the earth of all its natural resources, over population, over everything causing planet mother earth to get sick. Or is this weather just that change of climate thing. What do the meteorologists have to say about this. Help save planet mother earth. Is another world possible.

Blog Action Day

According to the website Blog Action Day, yesterday October 15th was Blog Action Day, so this posting can be a bit late in honor of that day. And I noticed postings everywhere yesterday and today in the blogosphere in honor of Blog Action Day. There were postings on Blogger, MyBlogLog and a host of other places. And I noticed the postings though it did not register to me what they were about until today, a day later. Blog Action day is a website that asks bloggers to write about something pertaining to saving the environment and saving the world. They are asking people to observe this day in their blog posts everywhere. They are asking bloggers everywhere to post about the environment in some sort of way relating to the environment for the environment. So in my post I can only mention what has been mentioned a thousand and a million times in recent years with the invention of population to where the earth is on fire and choking from its inhabitants. Planet mother earth is dying. And that J curve bell curve thing says the population of the world will double in twenty years. And there are those terms that I read everywhere these days to save the environment; Go green, green is the thing, sustainability and sustaining the earth from what? Over consumption, over consumerism, over pollution, overoilism, over capitalism, overeverything, Babylon on fire and green alternative energy; lights out america is a great website that addresses this issue. And what about oil? Petroleum oil seems to be destroying the world and planet mother earth. What about other alternative sources of energy, windmills, ocean energy, corn fuel and the like. And what about those unusual weather patterns the earth has been undergoing as a result of global warming? Is the world becoming like the film The Day After Tomorrow? This winter was the warmest worldwide since record keeping began in 1880. And what about over mining and violating the earths natural resources and deforesting the planets natural trees. The earth is being pillaged and plundered. How can the environment be protected. And now climate change, global warming and the greenhouse effect is the topic of the day every day these days in the news. The polar bears are floating on ice and the Antarctica ice caps are disappearing. And what abut that 12.21.2012 Mayan calendar theory, is this all related? This has something do with the earth reversing its axis and solar poles and a transformation of the world in 2012 or something, I think. A poem and a sentence of a song comes to mind when I think of planet earth.

The Earth is out mother, the ground we walk is sacred
People unite, all people unite

The river she is flowing, flowing and growing
The river she is flowing, down to the sea
Father carry me, your child I’ll always be
Mother carry me, down to the sea

Help save planet mother earth. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.
