A Gun Bill

Okay so here’s another one of those posts that was written on this blog some time a while ago. It’s just that hey, it’s easier to recycle this blog sometimes in that what to write on this blog for the sake of maintaining content whenever possible bloggers block, I think…

There was a headline in the news yesterday on the Yahoo homepage that read “Gun bill inspired by “A place where gun violence occurred”, and the article went on to say something about the mentally ill will be targeted and asked for documentation when they go to buy guns. Hugh? Is not the problem with guns that guns are sold everywhere to anyone at all, and not the people. And there was a sales excerpt in this past weeks Sunday newspaper for a sports store. This advertisement was for the hunting section of their store and it pictured a man dressed in camouflage with a gun tossed over his shoulder and there were photos of guns and rifles with brand names and fancy descriptions for sale all over the page. Are people animals who are people to be hunted? Is hunting for animals and people now considered a sport to be sold in the malls of America and on sales brochures next to roller skates and advertised in the papers for all to see. Is this not the same? Is not the problem that the images of guns are found in television, film, commercials, posters, newspapers, cartoons, video games and marketing and advertisements everywhere these days. Does not advertising influence society. I could cut and paste my blog entries over and over in my appeal to abolish guns. Guns are the worst invention of an industry ever. Everyday someone loses their lives to random acts of gun violence for no reason at all except for the fact that guns have been invented. It is a story that has been told yesterday and will be told tomorrow with no end in sight. It is an industry that feeds on itself, advertisement breeds crime which breeds news, which breeds crime, which breeds more advertisement which breeds more crime. Will the cycle of the beast that has it’s grip on humanity ever end. Should not guns be abolished from humanity as a whole, from everyone on the face of planet earth. And then there is that constitutional 4th amendment, the right to bear arms that should be abolished or rewritten to abolish guns and replace them with sticks and stones or something. The idea that property, material goods are worth more than life. And the whole world is paying with the loss of human life which seems to be a disposal commodity in the war industry of people against humanity. And my friend gave me a flyer as we were discussing the latest atrocity of the day in relation to gun violence. It is a flyer she received back in April at Union Square Park of New York City. And it is a flyer about gun violence and psychiatry. The Pharmaceutical industry is bigger than the war industry. Psychiatry Kills. Abolished forced psychiatric treatment. And what’s that “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” film by Ken Kesey all about anyway. That’s a whole another blog posting. For all things human rights and psych cia trickery and alternatives to the mental death system, Mindfreedom is a great website to visit. I am one voice, one blogger. Is another world possible. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?
And the flyer went on to read:

What caused the tragedy in “this state”?

It was reported in the Times and the Post Wednesday:

The killer had been taking anti-depressants.

All too often in the present age, we hear the tragic news of a senseless massacre somewhere in the country. Experience has shown, that the killer has almost always, if not absolutely always, been someone who had been prescribed anti-depressants.

The killers with names were kids who had been prescribed the anti-depressant ritalin.
The man who shot someone at this place had been prescribed an anti-depressant whose classic symptom is extreme rage directed at one specific person. The killers in the recent massacres in three different states, also one in another state, had been taking various prescription anti depressants.

Pharmaceutical drugs are prescribed, not as a last resort but as a first thought, not hesitantly but hastily and with excess. They are not properly used, but abused, with no thought of the side effects of taking chemicals which nature did not produce and evolution did not plan for us to be subjected to, like bug spray or insecticide. And this is not a small and isolated phenomenon, but rather a deliberate and systematic poisoning of the bodies and minds of the American people, on an epidemic scale.

The concentration of power, Mr. Moneybags, the State, which controls the American military-industrial complex and the pharmaceutical chemical companies that are an integral part of that system, the State, which, as Eisenhower warned, would one day gain undue influence and endanger our Liberties, has an interest in promoting this epidemic scourge of prescription drug use. Hundreds of billions of dollars a year, are made by the corporations that sell these drugs. It is big business. In addition, the State which experience has shown, for thousands of years all over the globe, tends to want to empower itself and dis-empower the People, gets exactly that benefit from this epidemic of drug use. Power and authority, competency and incompetency breeds corruption. It dis-empowers individuals by making them unhealthy. And it dis-empowers the community and the nation, by making people distrustful of each other; by making people think that their neighbor is a crazy person who they must be protected from; by persuading the People to accept, even to demand, increased police power of the State to protect them. Under such conditions even the will to independence vanishes.

The innovations of scientists and engineers are stolen and subverted by the concentrations of power; a virtue has become a vice, and chemical technology, which can and of right ought to be a liberating force in society, becomes enslaving.

Doctors are encouraged, by the drug industry, to prescribe artificial drugs to their patients. It is a regular practice, for the drug companies to pay a doctor a fee every time that doctor prescribes one of their drugs. It is no secret. In this way, the basic essential character of the American medical profession becomes one of conflict of interest.

The companies that make these drugs exert a great deal of pressure upon the mass media. There are huge advertising contracts, and there is an overlap of ownership between the drug companies and the media companies. The fact that a mass murderer was taking prescription drugs, is one of those things that will show up once in the newspapers, but is immediately and finally buried, and mum becomes the word.

There have been a thousand analyses of the killer in papers, of his history, his personality, his psychological problems; there have been a thousand demands for increased police powers; there have been a thousand calls for the outlawing of guns, and a general de-clawing of the People. But has anyone asked, how is it that society produces so many sick people?

Prescription anti-depressants are known to be a common cause of suicide; they are known to be a constant presence in senseless massacres. Surely the number of individual murders caused by these drugs must be many times greater than the number of massacres. And if there are so many suicides and murders, how many people taking pharmaceuticals must be gravely suffering, but have not quite yet arrived at the point of suicide or murder?

This epidemic of drug use, this deliberate poisoning of the bodies and minds of the American people, this deliberate, and thus far largely successful, did-empowerment of the American people, must stop. It is our purpose to reveal this truth to the American people, so that we may once again live in a sane and healthy society and the tragic deaths of so many good people in this State shall not have been in vain.

Gadgets

And so on this day finds itself another one of those blogging days where for some reason or another I find myself blogging about the phrases Cool Gadgets, Office Depot coupon code and Musicians Friend coupon. And so what else is there that I can say about these phrases that has not already been said in cool gadgets, Office Depot coupon code, Musicians Friend coupon blogger time. Except that if you happen to find yourself looking for these coupons and gadgets for some reason or another, GeekAlerts has them. And what an interesting name for a website, as who would have thought that the day would come where practically everyone, or at least a lot of people could have one of those personal computers enough to where one could become one of those computer geeks of long lore ago. And so at GeekAlerts you can find some cool gadgets and geeky stuff as well as coupons for those stores, news and more. As now with the invention of all things internet, one can find some discount coupons for Amazon, Best Buy, Dell, Disney, Office Depot, Old Navy, ThinkGeek, Vistaprint and a whole lot of other stores without ever having to leave home, or at least without ever having to leave one of those computers. As now finding those promotion codes, coupon deals and more can be just a website visit away.

3rd Annual SLF 4th of July Rooftop BBQ & Dance Party

In case you didn’t already know, our rooftop party has become the de facto place to be during 4th of July Weekend if you’re looking to avoid the tourist crowd, cheesy parties and overpriced bars.

They will surely bring the dance party to a new level! People’s Champs return with their energetic live performance and the SLF DJ crew and friends Kunal Merchant and Seif al-Din of Music Without Borders and Lily Vanilli of Nana Chill will keep the vibes with their trademark eclectic blend of House, Hip-Hop, Soul, Disco, Afrobeat, Reggae and more.

Recycle This Post

Okay, so this is one of those posts from this blog that was written on this blog some time a blogger while ago in my attempt to maintain content for this blog and my other blog whenever bloggers block possible.

Now this passage is kind of funny, sort of. Or maybe it’s not because it is about health and it is real. Well at least it makes a great statement about health and alternative medicine. This is one of those sayings that I saw on a friends refrigerator held on with a magnet the other day and I thought to repost it because hey, it’s less writing sometimes:

The Great American Death Ceremony

The death ceremony began as a crude ritual back in the days of witchcraft. In recent years, it has developed into a science. It usually takes 10 to 15 years however, modern scientific advancements are shortening this period of time.

It starts with one simple headache. When the one aspirin will no longer cover up the headache, take two. After a few months, when two aspirin will no longer cover up the headache, you take one of the stronger compounds. By this time it becomes necessary to take something for the ulcers which have been caused by the aspirin. Now that you are taking two medicines, you have a good start. After a few months these medications will disrupt your liver function. If a good infection develops you can take come penicillin. Of course the penicillin will damage your red blood corpuscles and spleen so that you develop anemia. By this time all of these medication will put such a strain on your kidneys they should break down. It is now time to take some antibiotics. When these destroy your natural resistance to disease, you can expect a general flair up in all your systems. The next step is to cover up all of these symptoms with sulfa drugs. When the kidney finally plug up you can have them drained. Some poisons will build up in your system but you an keep going quite a while this way.

By now the medications will be so confused they won’t know what they are supposed to be doing, but it doesn’t really matter. If you have followed every step as directed you can now make an appointment with your undertaker.

This game is played by practically all Americans except for a few ignorant souls who follow nature.

Make Music New York

Make Music New York

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blog. And Make Music New York is still happening today. And I know that festival of Making Music in New York is happening today because one of those bands that played as part of this festival in Washington Square Park on this day as in that YouTube video posted above says so. And Make Music New York is a live, free musical celebration across the city that takes place each June 21, the longest day of the year. On that day, hundreds of public spaces throughout the five boroughs become impromptu stages for over 1,000 free concerts. And this festival of making music in that city of New York Rocks. Have a great Make Music New York and more day.

Make Music New York 2011

And that festival of what seems like the end all of the be all of free music events of Make Music New York is happening again this year. And Make Music New York is a live, free musical celebration across the city that takes place each June 21, the longest day of the year. On that day, hundreds of public spaces throughout the five boroughs become impromptu stages for over 1,000 free concerts. And I know that music and arts festival for practically everyone who is an artist, musician or anything in between is happening again this year because some friends who are playing there, that Metro New York Newspaper Program, Time Out New York and all of those Facebook invites for that Make Music New York event say so. And that program seems to read like no other program before or after it with seemingly a million, bazillion musicians, artists and any other kind of performer in between listed as playing at seemingly a million, bazillion and more places throughout that city of New York on this June 21st of a solstice day. And according to that Make Music New York website, some of those performances and events listed on that schedule include Make Music New York’s 4th Annual Punk Island curated by ABC NO RIO’s HC/Punk Collective on Governors Island with over 50 punk bands, Mass Appeal where you can bring your own instrument and join one of 17 massive concerts, Make Music Wall Street, Mass Appeal Mass, Inuksuit, Yoko Ono’s Secret Piece, Swelter: Brass on Central Park Lake, Sing For Hope Pop-Up Pianos, Second Line Down the High Line with Hungry March Band, Mike Doughty at City Winery, Hoketus, Columbia University’s Miller Theatre in an event co presented and sponsored by places like Joe’s Pub, River To River, Carnegie Hall, Jazzmobile, Central Park Summerstage, MATA, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Symphony Space, American Opera Projects, WNYC, GigMaven and many, many, many more. Have a great music, art and more day.

Scrubs

Scrubs. Isn’t that the name of one of those television shows that was on tv some time a while ago that was about some sort of hospital drama with people walking around wearing those medical scrubs and nursing uniforms? Well, this post happens to be about scrubs in real life. And if you happen to be looking for those scrubs for some reason or another, you can find them at http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/. As when you click on that scrubs website, all kinds of scrub sets, scrub hats, lab coats, shirts, jackets and accessories are to be found in styles, shapes and patterns that seem as if they could have come right off of one of those fashion run ways themselves, as in long gone are those basic blue and green hospital uniforms, well maybe they’re still there to be found though. Heck, there seems to be even scrubs to be found for children these days and times. And now with the invention of all things internet, finding those blue sky scrubs and more can be just a website visit away.

Class

And being that I find myself blogging or reposting the topic of teachers and schools as in the following passage, that random or not so random thought comes to mind of having gone my way the other day on one of those New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority subways and then seeing what seemed like a classroom of school kids who were going their way also. And the thought occurred to me, for what reason are half of these children wearing eyeglasses, literally? Is it now mandatory to wear or be prescribed eyeglasses in school? Are those institutional fluorescent lights of Lucifer fluoresce himself, deceiver and bearer of stealing light from heaven blowing out every ones retinas at younger and younger ages? Is there some sort of internet guru to answer this question? As something about this occurrence found itself as yet another one of those random thoughts that wants to find itself on this blog at some point in blogger time. And so I continue to post the following passage that found its way in my email inbox that was sent from a friend who sent it to another friend who sent it to a friend and so on and so on and so on and so on:

NOMINATED FOR “BEST EMAIL OF THE YEAR 2010″!!!
After being interviewed by the school administration, the prospective teacher said:

‘Let me see if I’ve got this right.

‘You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behaviour, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages, and instil in them a love for learning.

‘You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their sense of self esteem and personal pride.
‘You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a chequebook, and apply for a job.
‘You want me to check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behaviour, and make sure that they all pass the final exams.
‘You also want me to provide them with an equal education regardless of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents in English, Spanish or any other language, by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card.
‘You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps.
‘You want me to do all this and then you tell me. .. . I CAN’T PRAY!

Clean This

Hey again bloggers, or whoever could be reading this blog. And so on this blogging day I find myself blogging about the words and phrases rug cleaning tips and http://www.thesteamteam.com/austin-restoration-services/smoke-fire.shtml for some reason or another. And so what is there that I can say about these words and phrases that has not already been said in web 2.0 user generated content blogger time? Well, if you find yourself with one of those red wine stains on the carpet, maybe one of these websites can help you figure out how to remove that stain, other than just removing the whole carpet itself, or something like that. And if you happen to find yourself in or near that city of Austin, well then I would think that The Steam Team of Austin, Texas could help you figure out how to clean and restore that upholstery, rug and more even better. And now with the invention of all things internet, finding that steam cleaning and more can be just a website visit away.

And Yet Another Ode To Blogging

And it seems as if that Google page rank update wants to send me in search of a fifth full time job so much that I thought to post this post on this blog yet again in my internetaholicness.

And being that on this day seems to find itself another one of those blagh your way to the bankless days, I find myself wondering what to blah blog about, again. Simply for the sake of attempting to maintain content for this blog and my other blog whenever possible in this social media web 2.0 user generated content era. And so goes that bloggers block again to where I find myself posting this post I posted on this blog some time a while ago…..

And even when it seems as if the world is falling down all around me, I still find myself blah blogging for some reason. And if you happen to be one of those attempt to get rich internet quick blogaholics as I have found myself in times past, it seems as if that latest Google page rank update the other day wants to send me in search of a fourth full time job. And so I thought to post that “Ode to Blogging” again that I came across somewhere in internetland during my internet time and have found myself posting on this blog every so often:

An Ode To Blogging(sung to the tune of “Mercedes Benz” by Janis Joplin)

Oh Google, won’t you give me a PageRank quickly?
My friends all have Adsense, but you banned me.
Blogged hard all my lifetime, trying to make money,
So Google, won’t you give me a PageRank quickly?

Oh Shoemoney , won’t give my blog a big plug?
I post every day, but never get Dugg.
I like how you’re bald, but don’t wear a rug,
So oh Shoemoney, won’t you give my blog a big plug?

Oh AGLOCO , won’t you give up your little green scam?
Your members flood my inbox with lots of spam.
You know that I’m not your biggest fan,
Oh AGLOCO, won’t you give up your little green scam?

Bloggers!
Oh Google, won’t you give me a PageRank quickly?
My friends all have Adsense, but you banned me.
Blogged hard all my lifetime, trying to make money,
So Google, won’t you give me a PageRank quickly?

Have a great blogging day.
