After hurricane Katrina, my family left New Orleans for a whole year. Our home was a complete wreck, and there was just no way we could live in it. We went to live with my parents in Houston while the house was reconstructed. The kids hated being there, and so did my husband and I. We just wanted to be home, and couldn’t wait to get back to our normal life. It was difficult sharing space with so many people, and we had no privacy.
