The Internet
(And this has actually passed, as I blahgged this some days ago in my blogaholicness...) And after having the past few days of enduring one of those seemingly
endless internet blogaholicness withdrawals of some sort of not being
able to find one of those computers to maintain my blogaholicness in my
travelling travails, I now find my self locating one. And is this one
of those 50 Signs You're A Blogaholic.
And just about ever internet withdrawal symptom may have passed through
my mind in these days. And I never thought I would be so happy to see
one of those Time Warner Cable guys show up at the door as if they
could be some sort of doctor coming to save the day. And then there
were thoughts of the local library, which does not seem to be so local
in this town, and then the nearest McDonald's for free wireless which
does not seem to be so near, or even trying to roam about town walking
for miles and miles and miles and miles until one could just find that
computer. And then the cable guy shows up and saves the day so to say.
And in other thoughts as I find myself here in this town of Kansas City
is it seems a whole another world from that City of New York that I am
used to finding myself dwelling in. And this inner city of Kansas City
seems as if it could be the wild wild west with the news of crime
running rampant, and stories of crime on the news that only seems to be
devoted to crime more atrocitic than the next and too many to fast to
keep track of, a beast that seems to feed upon itself. And there is an
article on the cover of the most recent issue of The Kansas City Call
that reads "Gun Violence Needs To Be Addressed", with a photo of yellow
police tape that reads "do not enter crime scene" with a photo of a
smoking gun with a big red x over it. And the message is clear, if only
guns can be abolosihed from every human being on the face of planet
earth. Guns are the worst invention of an industry ever. Is another
world possible, and what does this have to do with a No Police State?
