Nublu Nite
Okay, so somehow I wound up at that club Nublu last night in the East Village to see my friend Welf Dorr's band "Funk Monk" play after a night of going to some art opening with all of the free wine and cheese you can eat. And Nublu is this really cool artist collective like club that Ilhan Ersahin started sometime from back in the day with artists who perform there like Brazilian Girls, a band for which the club seems to be mostly known for these days, Forro In The Dark, Kino, Kudu, Kenny Wollesen, Butch Morris and the Nublu Orchestra, Wax Poetic, Real Live Show, John Farris, Karina, Love Trio and a host of others. And they always have these really kool dj's that play there also And that club that seems to be all the rage these days on the nightlife scene, seems like this hip scene thats never been seen before. And so my friends band gave me yet another good reason to drag the camera, whose main purpose seems to be to collect dust these days, out of the closet. And so I couldn't wait to play with the camera again. This blog entry was supposed to have a photo of them playing posted in it also but that didn't happen for some reason, because one thing I figured out in my experiment as a wannabe cameraman is to never attempt to use a camera after a night of free wine and cheese. And so the following is the YouTube video of my friends band on my YouTube page. This one seems to be sort of a cliffhanger video with an abrupt, frustrating ending to me. And the sound of that electronica synthesizer saxophone, and this evolution of the web 2.0 social media user driven content thing rocks. Have a great music day.
